Should've thrown a puppy eyed "I just cycled 170km to see the tree" during the exchange with the garden. Great stuff, looked like a fun trip!

hahah, I did expect the "private garden with a monumental tree" owner to not be home on a sunny spring evening but gave it a shot anyway; could have just snooped around but decided against being mischievous this time around

ha, this works for me: take it one stroke/mile/chunk at a time; ride every day and it will feel like just another big ride, eat well and drink water, stop to say hello to the dog or the calf and have fun 🐷
