Totally understand if you wanna keep your vintage world separate from your nursing world, but as a fellow nursing student who also admires vintage I want to say thank you for having such wholesome and consistently lovely content. The level of ease and simplicity at home and in mind is what I want to achieve. A great balm for this frazzled brain 😇

Your day in the life videos inspired me last year to get and keep my home much in the way of the 1940's housewife. It was great for about 2 months until my husband got covid, then I got covid (then a little Myocarditis a few weeks later from my bout with covid). Fun Fun. It's taken about 10 months to get my house back on track (sidetracked by some other family emergencies, gardening, and general craziness). How timely to have another day in the life video to make me smile and keep me going. Congrats on being a nurse as well. My husband is a nurse and it's hard work to get there. Thanks for the video, looking forward to many more.
@Motherhubbard1702 жыл бұрын
I had to look up myocarditis and it sounds MOST unpleasant like the entire Covid saga, After receiving a couple of vaccinations I came down with Covid like most. Obviously I survived, but 18 months later still have weird sinuses with strange smells, never having suffered from sinus before, horrible business all round
@dianebeckner8842 жыл бұрын
@@Motherhubbard170 It was an unpleasant experience. Ironically, our bout with Covid itself wasn't too bad. Aside from tiredness and a fever 10 days for each of us; nothing much to report. Mine was worse than hubbies because one of my migraines(hormonal) decided to show up at about the same time. I also lost my sense of taste and smell, which was really weird! My husband, a nurse, was vaccinated, and masked, but caught it anyway. I wasn't vaccinated, and caught it from my husband when he came home sick.

I love your content so much. You do such an amazing job in your portrayal of the time period. There's something i find very comforting about watching a day in the life in the 40s, 50s, 60s area.. i'm not even sure as to why seeing as i was born long after in 1997 😂 I think its the simplicity that the world today doesn't have thanks to all the technology we now have in our lives, i really think it's taken us over and is making us all really unhealthy. To think people use to wake up, get ready for their day, go out to actual shops to buy necessities, socialize with people face to face and take better care of themselves which seems to be slipping with a lot of us today thanks to the abundance of convenience we now have. I also love that people would still sit down together and have set meals as a family every day. I know that time area was far from perfect, and i'm so grateful for all we have now but i do think some of our old values should be bought back ❤

If you really want to do laundry vintage, get the old canvas shoulder clothespin bag. Then you just reach down into the bag to get the clothespin as you are hanging clothes and vice versa. When my son was born, we found one of those lovely old wicker bassanets, my mother made all the sheets and blankets for it. After I first saw it on your channel, I got that gravy mix - onion, beef and chicken - very tasty. Then I saw you pouring from the gravy boat. The only one I have just sits and you use a ladle to serve, sloppy, so I went hunting on line and found a perfect vintage china gravy boat - can't wait to use it!

I’ve had regular red hens and a rooster and also a Bantam hen and a bantam rooster. The bantam hen sat on her tiny eggs and hatched tiny chicks. The chicks were tiny! She was such a good mother and warmed her chicks by having them huddle under her wings. Watching them follow her and peck and scratch imitating her just about Burst my heart. I also had a cosleeper when my baby was born and I was able to breast-feed and change the diaper in the night without getting out of bed. It was the most wonderful thing Besides my baby jogger which my toddler absolutely loved and was in until he was about five. He would crawl into it ready to go on a trip with me and our beautiful pitbull who was also his informal nanny and playmate.
