I have learned so much about appreciating my (1968) mobile home from you. I spent a great many years being embarrassed of my house, in this age of big, beautiful McMansions. Which is what I left to come to our property. 😂 But your absolute joy in your home, and unabashed openness and willingness to share it have encouraged me greatly. Thank you, friend! 💕

yes, i was going to say the same thing and I have tons of books too!!! The key is not buying things that you don't need, or keeping up with the jones. I love my home and i'm just as sentimental as Tessie and I still consider myself a mimalist.

Tessie your home is so lovely, cozy and peaceful. I agree with you I could not be a minimalist either. You have a use for every item that you own and you are right where God planted you! What a ministry you have in blessing all of us with your teaching. I for one am so grateful. May you have sweet dreams and healing sleep tonight. 🙏😇🦋🥰

For some reason yesterday I was picturing myself walking from room to room in my great-grandmother's home. She died when I was 16, way back in the late 70's, but I remember how "homey" her home felt. I wish I could talk to her now that I'm an adult. I want to learn from her now, but she's gone. I have to rely on memories of visiting her. God bless, dearheart. Enjoy your treasures and teach your children and grandkids about them now while you can.

I think if you use it, it is not clutter. I did think that growing up minimalist was not great. Now, I know it was not that bad. I have a son and husband who are OCD hoarders, keeping stuff that just sits there, never gets used, never gets shared. I clean the house, and it is depressing to have huge sections of my home that I can't use and I don't want others to see.

I was blessed with 3-4 generations of photographs when my mother sold her home. I have a bit of furniture to jog memories of us thrifting together to find them. These memory triggers are especially precious since my mom went to the Lord.

I would feel at home more in your house than someone's who just bought all their stuff from a show room floor, I have been in houses like that. I think "what's their personalities, what do they really like?" that's what I should be seeing.

Tess I’m the same way! We use my grandmas plates daily.. I grew up eating on these plates and then my children.. there is so many great meals and memories from those plates. We have the rocker that my hubby’s mom rocked my hubby in.. everything in my home are either from family dear friends or thrift store finds. I can count on one hand the number of new items!

You have a very rich heritage, one that deserves to be held onto and cherished. Memories are all we have of those who have left us and I’m so grateful for all the paintings and ceramics, etc that my mother did. They are all over my home, My husband has finally come around about my prepping ( this past spring/summer convinced him I wasn’t wasting money on food he thought we didn’t need) and now I’m trying to convince him about the importance of things I have from mom. He is a minimalist, obviously I’m not. He’ll come around eventually. If not he’s just going to have to adapt. It comforts me to enjoy the memories she left me. Your home is a warm inviting treasure , never forget that.

A few years ago we bought a mobile home for our daughter to live in to save money for a new home they wanted to build. If I could give you a suggestion, it would be to put on a peaked roof and shingles. We did that and it sure saved the inside from a lot of potential water damage and because of that it added even more years to someone living there afterwards not to mention when we sold it added value. Your home is so lovely inside and I connect with you on the joy it gives you to see older things that bring memories to warm your heart. Take care keep smiling. Your Canadian girlfriend

You have a very nice home Tessie. I agree minimalism isn't totally for me either. I do try to pare down some things, but it's hard to let other items go. I love antiques and literally everything in my home has a story, from my night stand that came over the Oregon Trail in a covered wagon to my dining set that came from my husband's folks. Thanks for sharing your home with us! I struggle with downsizing as I’m the only one in my large family that appreciates our history. I grew up in old homes (200+ years old) and finally was able to purchase my homestead a few years ago. It was built in 1947 and that I consider relatively new! LOL. For the most part it is original so I can appreciate the functional aspects more than beauty. We have similar bathrooms! I share your joy in stories. I pass along “stuff” to nieces; as they get older, they want to know more history. Your home is of comfort as is mine but you are much more organized and let’s just say, I am a mess! Keep doing what you’re doing, dear Tessie. You bring back my PA memories although I am in CA. Enjoy your morning bagel and looking forward to tomorrow’s video! - Maxie

Tessie your home is beautiful inside and out! I too love my cherished items from family & friends. I'm far from a minimalist, but also not in the hoarder category. Preserving those family heirlooms and sharing their stories with my children are really important to me. Like you each time I see an item or use an item that use to belong to a family member I stop and reminisce about the memories of my loved one. I have an old antique ice cream scoop that was my grandmas. Every time I use it to dip out ice cream I think of how she use to let me have vanilla ice cream with Hersheys chocolate syrup, and a marchino cherry on top when I got to visit her! Good memories! ❤

It is nice to be surrounded by loving memories...kind of makes a home a haven. My home is my haven for sure. I cherish it immensely. I do love your home and it is a pleasure to see you in your videos taking care of it. Thanks for sharing!

I agree with your feelings about older homes. My farmhouse was built in 1894 by some of my husband's ancestors. These home do have character. If the walls could talk, imagine what they could tell us. Thank you for sharing your home.

Then I must be very old!!! LOL I was born in 1963.... I just had to laugh when you said your mobil home was very very old!!! Thanks for sharing and making me laugh today!! Much needed!!! You are extremely clean and more orderly than I will ever be, but I am a work in progress. ... You have been blessed big time and so have I in many ways! I never take anything for granted and I thank both my parents up in heaven everyday!!!

Morning. I don’t have a lot of stuff because I don’t like clutter plus it’s more to dust lol. However I do have special things from family etc, just not a lot of them. If you are happy in your home that is all that matters. Have a blessed day hon 🦋
