@aljensen77792 жыл бұрын
The Ryft, by design, is a go-anywhere vehicle and if I can't decide which rig to bring along, I always choose the Ryft, since it's likely to handle any terrain I put in front of it. I beefed mine up too, with GPM hardware and the rear torsion bar was the best investment. As soon as it was installed, all the torque twist disappeared. Great, fun little machine on 4s. As a crawler though, it needs a better power system in it. It's a great platform for selling Firma stuff, but you need a sensored system in it to go slowly enough for controlled climbing.
@TomleyRC2 жыл бұрын
Yes, a sensored set up for crawling is a must. I’d not looked at Ryft prior to doing this video, and it’s certainly a decent rig!
@frankensteinsgarage96322 жыл бұрын
AI Jensen i found when I fitted the factory rear sway bar I started chewing diff centres out on 4s. Since then I have upgraded to Treal centres. But I have thought about going to a sensored motor. Going back to 3s, removing the rear sway bar and keeping it more as a crawler.
@aljensen77792 жыл бұрын
@@frankensteinsgarage9632 Idk if it makes any difference, but you said you used the factory sway bar? And the one I put in mine is a GPM. Maybe that has something to do with it? Who knows but my diffs have been alright with no noises. Also used GPM driveshafts but MAN, it's expensive ordering from them.
@frankensteinsgarage96322 жыл бұрын
@@aljensen7779 yeah ok. I'm still running standard drive shafts. I have once sheered a centre spline shaft for the rear drive shaft. My diffs never get noisy. One minute they are fine next minute they just strip like butter. On 3s I never have a problem. In saying that I haven't had a problem on 4s since I fitted the Treal diff spools.

WOW .... now that is one Cool 😎 👌🏼 RC rig that has clearly been built with great skill, using top quality kit and to such a unique colourway. Fully understand your nervousness at not wanting to trash it but hey the way to show its true and full potential is at controlled speed on the kind of rocky terrain you took it to. For me the way it flips, jumps and soaks up some pretty serious lumps and bumps relative to its size and scale is its greatest attraction. Well done to GCRC for creating a truly unique and beautiful RC truck. Also well done to you Phil for providing the very best showcase for it. The bench videos were awesome and showed off the quality of both the Treal componentry and GCRC's build. All in all a brilliant showcase so we could all share in this incredible RC rock bouncer in all its glory.

I wish they came strong like that out of the box. I've never understood how manufacturers can make something so good but so flawed and continue to sell them. Great for the aftermarket upgrade companies I guess. I know out of the box with all the aluminum parts would make it expensive but stock it just won't stand up to its name as a Rock Bouncer coz the axles housings will soon break. Bummer
@frankensteinsgarage96322 жыл бұрын
I've got a stock one. Well apart from centre and rear diff spools, plus a 25kg steering servo. And tbh the only part that brakes and keeps breaking is/was the spider gears in the rear diff when running 4s lipo. If I run 3s I don't have a drama. And now that of got Treal diff spools the car has been almoat indestructible. I've jumped and treated it like a basher. Never had a problem with the factory plastics. Only flaw I could say is it doesn't handle well for how fast it is. And yes if you try to crawl it the motor cogs a little. I will go to a sensored motor soon. As for the handling it does make for a rewarding drive if you can drive it at high speed and keep it up right.

Front ARB as well as rear? I know it is has a lot of ground clearance to control, but a front ARB is going to limit low speed twist and most likely over stiffen the spring rate on single sided hits. So less flex, and worse bump absorbtion? Interesting truck though 👍🍺🇬🇧
