Earlier this week while visiting family in Springfield, Missouri, I saw the wildlife photo exhibit at Johnny Morris's Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium. Your Windland Smith Rice winning photo of the great grey owl is among the featured images. It was great to see it presented in a large HD screen in that gallery setting.

I am definitely envious of your proximity to incredible wildlife. You have access to more rare and photogenic animals within an hour from your home, than most people experience in a lifetime. For those of us who can drive for hours and struggle to see anything beyond a robin or squirrel, it makes the entire concept of wildlife photography seem unattainable.

Just returned from the Grand Tetons/ Yellowstone. The nicest airport I have ever been in is Jackson Airport. Such beautiful country!

For Hawaii, if you could wait and go in say Jan/Feb it's peak season for humpback whales in Maui.. it's not a question of if you will see them, but what will you see them do and how close
