I bought it today, the FR Original is 100% authentic. I bought a lefty, it said "Floyd Rose Original". As per FR's site, only the lefties include "original". Just to make sure, I looked up under the nut and bridge. It says, "Made in Germany". Also these parts sell for ~$500 CAD. Also $40 Wilkinson tuners. Guess what I bought the guitar for? $500 CAD on Amazon sale. My alternative was a Jackson JS32, it had a licensed Floyd Rose and crappy tuners. The pickups I've heard are meh. The price is also $500.

On another note. I like clear basswood because it is so uniformly plain and no grain. Its almost a solid coffee cream color. As on the ibanez TAM backside

Good video. I've purchased 4 guitars from them over the past couple of years, and my experiences with their shipping/receiving department is very similar. Just frustrating to be honest. However, they do respond to emails pretty well and do put out the effort to fix any issues. Their newer guitars with MAB are really very well made. Nice specs. Thick necks.

fretboard is sandalwood the Floyd Rose is made in Germany. So they don't say what model it is but is is real. not licensed.

Really interesting guitar. I like the angled back headstock although pointless once the nut is clamped 🤔 Difference between levels of pickups an issue for me unfortunately.

To be fair, if you were playing live and had your volume cranked so that your amp was maxed out and heavily compressed it would make the issues negligible. As a home player like me, that difference is always there, but it works OK. I use the single coils for cleans and the humbuckers for dirt. I always run a compressor on my clean sound, and then I tweak it until the volume matches the dirty volume.

In bridge humbucker mode with your drive sounds like you could play the original Star Trek theme song. 😎The older original Floyd’s used to have a stamp on the under side of the bridge that had “West Germany” stamped on them. You might be able to see it if you remove the back trem cover.

Drooling for this Strat but wish it also came in a hardtail version. I have 4 Sawtooth Strats. 2 entry level and 2 higher level. The entry level are gobs better than Glarry Strats. I have 2 of them to compare them to. Don't waste your time and money on a Glarry unless you can do all of the work yourself like me. It took countless hours to make the Glarrys play right. Take my advice! The Guitar Wizard of Strats 😉

I am perplexed by the glowing reviews of Glarry guitars on KZbin, even by guys like Phil McKnight and Darrel Braun who opinions are pretty well informed. I got a Glarry to work on because it's even cheaper than a kit guitar, but it was absolutely a $70 guitar. The only disadvantage on this Sawtooth ES Hybrid is the weight - it feel much heavier than a regular Strat style.

@@mancaveguitarpedalmania4008 They will deny it but the guitars the big KZbinrs get are hand picked. I'm curious, do you know the weight of this hybrid guitar? I bought a Tele, specs says 8lbs. No way! It's between 10-11 lbs, thought to return it but waited 4-5 yrs for it. Long wait for a lefty. They had it last yr and it sold out quickly. This yr when I bought it was a 30% increase in price 😣😕 Awesome Tele tho 😈

It’s been a year since you made this video. Do you still own and like the guitar? I’d love to see a follow-up review. I just purchased one as part of their Black Friday 2022 sale and I hope they have resolved their shipping issues that you described. I am looking forward to receiving it, but also prepared to wait for it if it takes time.

This was an awesome review. I do notice shipping in China is extremely slow. From factory to town to town to town…then once it ships internationally it’s usually just a couple of days to my door.

That's one hell of a deal for that guitar. I build custom guitars and know what it takes to produce a guitar of that quality, how are they making money? The reason the trem cavity cover is not recessed is because there needs to be room for the trem block to move, most guitars with trems have non recessed covers so don't sweat that little detail.

I recently purchased one of these and like it very much. The design covers a lot of tones for someone that does not have a stable of guitars. I do have a question that you may be able to answer. To do the online registration you need the SERIAL NUMBER of the guitar so where do we find that. It is not stamped anywhere obvious.

Nice video. An original Floyd Rose should be stamped "Made in Germany" on the underside of the baseplate. Would love to know if it's really a true German made Floyd. Also, if you take off the locknut, it should also have a Made in Germany stamp on the underside.

I would not take them at their word that’s a $200 Floyd Rose, I would check to make sure it’s an original German Floyd Rose as advertised, I would also take off the pick guard; the guitar would look better without it. Obviously you can simply not do either of those things just kind suggestions 😀oh, also have a question for you, where does the guitar say that it’s made? Thanks!!

My understanding is that the patent on Floyd Roses expired which is why you see a lot of 'originals' on cheap guitars now. Maybe I'm incorrect but that's what I heard
