I remember getting the bus up to Crook many years ago and in those days it went up that steep bank to Toronto. Only ever missed one Kynren with my grandson, we both enjoyed it, brilliant evenings entertainment. The Bishops Palace will be well worth a look when it's finished and that guy has spent some money in BA mind, I hope it is worthwhile and gets the support it deserves. Cheers Alan

My dad lived around corner at hunwick station and they say that the pubs dog would get on the train to Newcastle where they send it back home

brilliant video, places i didn't know existed... :) I've cycle down the bishop auckland track a few times (only just recently) and looped back through kynren which leads back to that track... but I'll check that route towards spennymoor too.. :)

Thanks for the nice comment. You can cycle on the track to Spennymoor then on the road to Brancepeth and pick up the Brandon line, then the worlds your oyster on railway trackbeds. Done it loads of times but bikes off the road due to accident. Glad you enjoyed the video. The next one is shorter, Pen Hill.

@@mikeshikes587 damn, hope your bike's ok...what kind of accident did you have? i got an ebike too, just bought it in february and it's opened up a whole new world of routes - i used to live in wolsingham but moved to Tow Law, and think nothing of doing 30 miles without breaking into a sweat, as in january - cycled (on a normal mtb) down to wolsingham to stanhope, up the crawleyside bank, then the waskerley way, and back over the moors at salters gate...my legs were fried! but can do it no problem now :)

I rode into dry stone wall near Westgate. Gear lever bracket snapped and brake line damaged leaking hydraulics. Also my hand and leg. Bike getting fixed on a Wednesday.
