Great lesson as always Marina! 👍👍👍You seriously can explain English better than most native speakers. One other article tip I didn't know until last year is with a/an: it's actually not about the first letter of the word, it's about the first SOUND. If a words starts with a vowel sound, use 'an'. If it starts with a consonant sound use 'a' That's why you say 'a unit' and 'a unicorn' because even though the first letter is a vowel, the words start with a 'y' sound 'yoo' That's also why you say 'She earned an MBA'. M is a consonant but "MBA" starts with a vowel sound: 'em' 'bee' 'ay' Hopefully that makes sense! 👍👍

Marina's up to walk us through the grammar stuff cuz she learned English from scratch which gave her the ability of explaining/breaking down grammar n all sorts of things. Natives're not up to do the same thing cuz diving into the grammar aspects of English's never corssed their mind. They got born in an English Speaking country so they're up to carry a conversation, without scratching their hands on bunch of rules .In case a person got born in Russia this pers is gonna speak, brag bout stuff in Russian without getting back to the topic of grammar or questioning, "It's cool to spell use this word instead of that one ma teacher taught me."

I wish I watched this video 5 months ago. I am an Indonesian and we have no article in our spoken language. I've learnt English for more than 10 years but I still confuse whether I have to say the or a (/an). My lecturer asked me (5 months ago - i am a language student) how to differ sentences with THE, A, and NO ARTICLE. The sentence were : 1. THE Lion is a wild animal 2. A lion is a wild animal 3. Lions are wild animals. Then none of the students could answer. So now I'm just happy I find this video. Keep it up Marina! Lots of love from Indonesia💞 Anyone of you viewers want to try to answer? And I'd be glad if Marina could answer this by herself, how to differ those 3 sentences. Thank u in advance✨
