This is what started the entire thing; this segment took place (or aired anyway) June of 2012. Kathy Griffin heard about this I believe the day it aired or thereabouts, and had Anderson Cooper as a guest on her show, who suggested she book them (A$AP Rocky & Danny Brown) as guests on her show - which she did. Then at some point Schoolboy Q heard about all this, got involved, and actually saw Kathy on the streets in NY -- he jumped out of the truck and took a picture with her to post on Social media. Then, since this (first interview) was all filmed by VICE/Noisey and they were also following Schoolboy Q and a ton of the new generation of Music Artists (All of the A$AP Mob and that circle), I'm sure they facilitated the next meeting because it would make great content; I'm referring to the 2 videos where A$AP & Kathy are sitting on the couch together in her home, which was somewhere around September 2013. The funny thing is it didn't even end there either.... there's articles online from October 2014 where Schoolboy Q is telling interviewers [and I quote]: "Kathy Griffin, that's the homie, that's my secret lover right there," and [that] "We fell in love a long time ago, and we just kept it going." And then he FURTHER stated, just to emphasize he wasn't joking with the interviewers {Dan Le Batard / Bomani Jones} "It's just my secret lover," - "She hit me up, I come through, spend the night... I don’t have to say what I do when I spent the night. I spend the night, I wake up, I go home. Secret lovers." And then lastly he said [in reference to Kathy] "She just joking with A$AP Rocky and Danny Brown," he said. "She ain’t serious with them, she serious with me. Those dudes can’t pull off a nice hat like this and glasses." --> Which if you followed any of this, he's making a throwback reference to the A$AP & Kathy Couch interview again, which Kathy is talking about the ways & reasons why she's get busy with A$AP Rocky, Danny Brown, and Schoolboy Q ---> So she says "Q usually has some sort of a safety hat" & "he could go down _there,_ put the cap down, take a nap, I don't care; as long as he keeps working"... Great content, for sure lol.
