Very good. I was thinking of using the servo driver with 2 modes. plus and analogue. I will make a 5 axis swiss lathe. Steel body. Aluminum produces a lot of vibration. Spindel is currently under construction.

you are all right, the only advantage is that aluminum is easy to assemble and install, of course this is for wood, so vibrations are not a problem, but I agree that the metal structure must be over 500 kg, turning metal does not tolerate vibrations.

Подскажите пожалуйста, как это организовать. Нашел, что можно переключать режимы в этом сервоприводе, но какой вход использовать, так и не понял (таблиц с параметрами не нашел 1-27). В планах использовать на токарном, как шпиндель и поворотка и тоже через месу 7i96s, ну и пин для направления вращения, или же испол зовать и настроить под ±5в по аналогу (если есть настройка, а то ±10 не выдержит аналоговый выход месы. Так что проще отдельным выходом задавать направление в аналоговом режиме.

Hello, it was long time ago so i cant remember settings(i can see tonight)..the main thing is to set one output on 7i96s to change state of driver trough m64-m65 command and trough relay. than also you have to config and relocate input pin on driver to accept that change. a can see my config and will tell you which parameter for what.

Thank you. Yes but you must configure AASd servo driver to work in two modes, on for stepdir and one for analog, when A or S axis stops in gcode than you have to put M64 and M65 comannd which is to change driver mode from position to analog by an output from mach3 card(over relay 24v). also need to program driver input pin to change this mode.it's hard to understand, I don't know if there is something here to comment on the picture, maybe I can help if I sketch it..

it’s a linux based controller mesa 7i96s, classic config for A axis, step dir on driver, i can’t remember steps per unit(can see) encoder has 10000 ppr can be reduced/4 mean 2500 ppr, so linux has config for every axis anc calibration.. when i command g0 a360 it turns one full rotation..

also servo motor has input for analog 0-10v , so it can run as classic spindle, in g code i use G0 as clasic move, than also in gcode command to switch between a-s and than motor rotate constantly trough s command, example m3 s1000

As 4th axis and as spindle(to work as lathe) I am experimenting with my stepper now, and if I make velocity 1300, and set the step per units on 1:1 ratio as 200, it moves slow. And don't read the command as A80 F300. I use uccnc, and I hope that it can be works as your servo
