Towards the end, Milian asked the plaintiff why she took a picture of the front of her car. She said it was "unsettling" to her, hinting that the plaintiff did it to obtain more money from the defendant. The funny thing is, a few days ago, I was on a People's Court binge and I saw a case that dealt with a car towing shop damaging a plaintiff's car while it was in their possession. The name of that case is called, "Tow-tally Out of Control." They uploaded that episode on Valentine's Day 2021, so almost two months after this video. At the end of that case, Harvey offered his suggestion (as he usually does at the end of the case) and recommended people take pictures of their vehicles from time to time in case something like this happens where their vehicles are damaged at the hands of a repair shop or towing company or whatever. It's funny how one lawyer suggests you take pictures of your car beforehand and the other finds it "unsettling," both working on the same show.

It's always a good idea to take pictures of your vehicle inside & out at the moment when you KNOW you'll have to leave it at the shop. Why? Because if something happens to your vehicle while at the shop or while being test driven by the mechanic(s), you'll have some proof the way it looked BEFORE you left it in their care. Ask yourself why the rental car companies have a damage sheet for their vehicles that you have to sign BEFORE they release the rental to you. ANY extra damage you cause, they will make you pay for... or whatever your purchased insurance doesn't cover.

I'm dealing with the same thing. That check engine light is a beast to clear, then you have to drive it 100 miles to make sure it stays off. If it doesn't...ching ching...it is usually pretty costly. I think the shop wasn't clear with the plaintiff about the potential costs of clearing the check engine light. It's never just 37 dollars, that's just to hook it up and check why the light is on. Better communication before the repairs were done could have prevented this whole fiasco.

You didn't give him his inspection fees and it failed the exhaust test till he did more work. he really only charged he 390 for brakes, 170 for inspection fees, and 187 to have the light go out. So the Judge ripped him off. I would of had him return 107, which i would of let him keep inspection fees, he had to test exhaust twice, and 80 for cleaning out the fuel injection air intake and driving the car twice, to be able to verify that was the only issue.

So you tell the customer it’s estimated to take 2 hours plus parts but once we get in there it may take more time if this this or that because it’s possible by my experience this may or may not happen. But once i get in there if something does come up I’ll fletch you know before I do the work. We actually know a very honest mechanic. He tells you just as I’ve explained. Im not a mechanic but if u have engine lite on n need inspection this guy is right could cost $100- $1000. All these sensors r expensive. The car needs to be driven around to set computer. Which mechanic will charge for that time.

I think it had more to do with her asking the plaintiff the car had been hit from behind and she hesitated before she said "no". After she asked her again, she then said "yes".

The Plaintiff is a witch!!! I detest people that try and get something for nothing!!! She wants the service, but doesn't want to pay for it. What goes around comes around. It's going to come back and bite her. She was lying when she said her car was never hit from behind! Then she retracted her statement. Judge Marilyn could find out if it had or not.

It’s easy to feel like you’re being taken advantage of when you don’t have a clue what you’re talking about. That goes for women and men. As a mechanic myself, I can tell you everything the defendant said was accurate. In fact his rates are really cheap.
@34stzoo3 жыл бұрын
She contradicts herself a lot! She doesn’t award settlements on a Emotional distress on a contract case. And yesterday she award 5k to a couple that hired a limousine company. The company was late picking them up. The owner was Apologetic, refunded their money, and finished the day! The judge award 5k because the company ruined their wedding day! But that’s a contract case where the other try to make it right! I was truly upset with her judgement!
@HighMaintenanceMinimalist2 жыл бұрын
To be fair, I've only ever seen her award pain & suffering or emotional distress damages when a wedding is involved. Obviously it's because so much preparation goes into these events and people emotions are already heightened.

It can take a good sum of work to fix a check engine light! It is a process, you begin with 1 and work your way through the issue, if the light is on due to multiple codes

That last bit about the Judge finding it strange that a person would have photos of their car was...odd. Years ago, I got my tires changed at Costco and they decided to dent my car (near the front wheel) and keep quiet about it. Since then, I make sure to take photos of my car before turning it in for any type of service. It's just good practice to do so.

It’s too bad people are so dishonest with each other. Instead of trying to help each other out, we are too busy trying to rip each other off. I think being a judge would be a hard job because if a person don’t bring solid evidence with them, then you basically have to decide who’s telling the truth & who’s basically lying!!
