That instrument that you were confused about in macedonian part is called zurla, and it is common all throughout all balkan and middle eastern countries.

This good mix takes me back to the memories of when we taught mostly these folk dances of the Balkans at the folklore group. A minimum of 2 x 3 hours of training per week has "shaken" you so much that you have no chance to gain weight.

That instrument you didn't know about that starts at 8:02 is a type of bagpipes. In Greek it's called 'Tsampouna'. It's a very common instrument in Balkan and Middle Eastern music.

Nice to see all the different styles of dance, it used to be popular in the Netherlands and i learned a lot of dances from different Countrys, also line dancing. I went to Czech Republic and Rumania with a dance group, it was a great experience.

6:26 when looking at folkmusic, as far as america goes, look up the native american dances... the americans of today are an accumilation of european settlers, they have no folkmusic of their own, its all taken from where they originally came from and simplified(for lack of a more accurate term) through generations...

We all used to dread Social Dancing Classes in school, but now I'm so glad I learned how to dance at a ceilidh. Had so many fun times. That was a great video. Props to the dancer for doing male & female parts.
