I stopped ballet after many years of intensely doing it. I still occasionally practice, just on a more gentle level. The amount of times people have told me ballet or gymnastics is not as difficult as "real sports" or shouldn't be considered a "sport" is insane. It's the most disciplined practice on earth.

As a ballet dancer, this video was very aesthetic but this is NOT how life as a dancer looks like. I do really appreciate people liking ballet and making “ballet-core”. Another thing I would like to point out is that I DO NOT recommend wearing jewelry nor makeup (if you really want to, just mascara and blush) and from my own experience, don’t worry if you are feeling judged, trust me, no one is looking at you (unless it’s just you dancing) since everyone is trying to concentrate on their own thing :)

I started dancing last year in 2023 - I started off in Hip Hop, but when that stopped, I moved to Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT), and now I've added Jazz as well - before this, I hadn't had any interest in dancing; it was a theatre show last year that got me really enthusiastic about dancing. So I started dancing at the age of 34 years - and will be turning 36 this year. I also started yoga again about a week ago. Keep going - and keep us up to date on your progress. 😇🙌

I wish my ballet experience was this calm, cute, relaxing.. I am studying ballet professionally for the 3 year now and the trauma I already have is not funny from getting yelled by my teachers, that slap me, that sit on me when i do my over splits, not being allowed to cry.. or injuries like falling from points or being pushed over my limit. Some of yall may tell me "oh well its your fault for choosing to do ballet" trust me i know, i chose to do ballet because I love it, and I am so grateful to be able study it but it really is not easy like people are saying "oh all ballerinas do is just twirl around and look pretty" that really is not the case I love Fernanda, I enjoyed this video, it just makes me mad when some people are like this :) This is just a silly comment that probably no one will ever read haha but if someone read this I hope you now understand and have a good day! xx
