I remember talking to my friends about Arda leaving for Barca and all of us agreed that he would not get much playing time because of MSN and would be spending much of his time on the bench . The heartbreak created by the progression of his career after leaving Athletico is therefore even greater for me personally. Great video as always! But there’s one aspect of it that you didn’t cover and that was the Turkish media. They wouldn’t leave Adra alone, even when he was playing in Spain. One news outlet even said that he hurt his groin because he was having too much sex. Absolutely ridiculous things to say about your own nations star player and I think that may have contributed to him making some of his poor decisions off the pitch. I vaguely remember fans booing him off the pitch in a 3-0 loss against Spain in the Euros. Yeah he didn’t play great but the fans were more angry with him than they should’ve been and that was because of the constant gossip surrounding him. This isn’t to defend him or his actions because he has done some very stupid things, but it does add a bit more context. It would need translating, but a Turkish channel named Hastalik Bu Futbol did an amazing “first person” narrative of his entire career. From his youth academy days to the end of his career

I watched him play 3 times for the national team, score in all of them. His first stint at Galatasaray was out of this world. But his move to Bsrcelona was the end. Soo many playersget ruined by moving to Barcelona and Real Madrid.
