Marty McSorley would never last in today's NHL it's soft as hell. The NFL is the absolute joke compared to how it was even 20 years ago. Lawrence Taylor would be called for penalty on every sack these days. Even baseball you used to be able to go home hard when you're going from third base but now because of the softer beta catchers you have to get out of their way to slide home no more collisions. Even when baseball players celebrate the world series there's no more piles that's illegal you have to just jump up and down like a bunch of morons

@@almighty7709 and the guy played thru them most of the time. Played 82 games 4 times in his career. Michael Jordan 9 times. Lebron James: 1. He played 82 once in his career lol… in a less physical era. If Jordan could go 82 games 9 times in his career, Kobe 4 times in a more physical era and less advanced recovery techniques, then yes it’s on the players. You act like injury is completely random 100% of the time. A lot of the time it has to do with what the player is eating, their daily recovery techniques, how hydrated they are, how much Yoga they do… etc etc. Look at a Zion or Paul George. Do you really think they leave practice and focus on treating their body right for the next game already knowing their injury prone? Hell no lol. Yes Kobe was injured a lot, but he worked like a f*cking dog and still played 82 games 4 seasons which most superstars of the modern era could only dream of. Point in case: Players have a lot more control over their health than you’ve been led to believe. If you ever have played a sport past the highschool level you’d know what I mean. Kareem used to do Yoga. Wilt was in such good shape he averaged more than 48 mins / game (because he played every minute of every game + overtime), Jordan wanted to compete so bad on a broken foot that his coach had to stop him. People can make the argument that players are objectively more “skilled”, which is an understandable take. However, I’m gonna make the point that players today are 10000x softer and more entitled than they’ve ever been. This definitely contributes to how much they play That’s what Kobe meant by “it’s your responsibility”. Obviously its a case by case basis, but clearly the players today don’t make an effort like they used to. Sure the game is “faster paced” which can lead to more injury, but even that’s overblown. 40% of todays shots are 3’s so they’re barely even exhausting themselves just chucking 3’s. There’s also no midrange game anymore. Players are protected the most out of any era.

two seasons is the best way to move forward. have one early on with NBA cup concluding in mid-late december then reset standings and start again Christmas day. Take out preseason completely because no one cares. This way you have ppl who are interested in early cup games and others who are more interested in the longer season and post season. 19:55 another way would be to make the key a one point zone and everything in mid-range a two. this way people have less on an incentive to sticking with dunks and layups making them expand the same. maybe now the whole game, start it at 5 mins left in the quarter.

its definitely NOT about the stars, you’re missin the mark with that. NbA has incredible superstars. while it IS a multi layered issue, the NBA screwed themselves by giving the players too much power. they get ridiculous contracts, they go where they wanna go, leave when they wanna leave, dont play when they dont wanna play. the games dont matter, every team plays the same way so positions like a TRUE center dont exist anymore. Offense gets way too many rule exemptions so defense has taken a back seat. Divisions dont matter, nothing matters because HALF the teams make the playoffs anyway with records sometimes below .500. theres no stakes. Adam Silver 100% ruined the NBA

It's weird because the LeBron dunk last night was a play you used to see in the league every night. A massive Highlight dunk. However it's sadly been done by an aging 40 yr old super star. In recent years the highlights aren't much to talk about. Just flashy passing that leads to a 3 point shot. Blocks get #1 plays of the week because no one is dunking anymore.
@kenw222514 күн бұрын
Good. Dunking is so lame. It's not impressive that dudes 6'8 and can almost touch rim standing , can jump and reach a ten foot rim. Maybe with a 11'6" rim , it would be impressive. Otherwise it's just not cool. Dunking should be a 1 point play. Free throws are harder than dunks. Check league percentages on free throw attemps vs dunk attempts if you disagree. Weak league, weak mindset. Soft , and non competitive.

Great video. But it was not Steph Curry who is to blame.. It is Daryl Morey and his obsession with statistics. He learned that, statistically speaking, the most advantageous shot is the corner 3. He figured out that the 3 pointer is a higher percentage shot than a mid range and decided his Houston Rockets were just going to shoot more 3 pointers than anyone else. Then other teams caught on and now pretty run the same systems. Also, you didn't mention the officiating even a little bit.. Players getting techs for things like clapping or shouting "BOOM" after a shot or just staring. The refs ruin the momentum of the game and don't officiate consistently.

Refs are (in my opinion) the second bad reason the rating are down. Lastly, these players do not play defense like the old days (i know rules come into play with that). They only seem to focus on offense and then complain to the refs when they do not get a foul call. Players don't play as much anymore either, they don't take care of theirselves and or are just load managing and telling us they won't play back to backs now 🤦🏾♂️😂 Also you didn't bring up that Beyoncé performed on Christmas Day at the Ravens/Texans game at halftime and had all her fans tune into the game just for that.
