One of our players hates bards like a lot. He was DMing a Christmas one shot and our DM- turned player sent us all a text unbeknownst to him. As we start revealing our characters to him he started getting more and more annoyed. Yes, we all were Christmas Caroler bards.

Real talk, bards make great assassins. Less sneaky and more persuasive, played right they're about as good at it as rogues, just with a different approach. A well built bard is second best for any task, but capable of just about anything.
