I also struggled a bit with pairing the dark crystal tarot but I thought it could work well with the faeries oracle considering the brian froud connection!

Perhaps Maia Toll's Crystallary/Bestiary/Herbiary Oracles would go nice with the Dark Crystal cards? They might be a bit close in style or same/same-y but the colours might work.

I don't own the Dark Crystal tarot, but have the LOTR tarot from same artist. I pair it with Shamanic healing oracle cards. I find they have a similar'ish art style that works for me.

A really interesting point about pip decks! I’ve always hated them but your way of viewing them in conjunction with more scenic cards makes me actually curious about playing with them.

Christine Rose Elle here on KZbin has an interesting video where she explains how she specifically works with the witch sister tarot. Loved that. I use it like a guardian deck to tilt my reading in a celtic witchy direction. Almost more as an oracle than a tarot or together with another tarot. 😊

With your love of Alice in Wonderland, have you read The Looking Glass Wars books by Frank Beddor? They're a really interesting take/ reimagining of the Alice story. I love the idea of the Into the Lonely Woods/Labyrinth Tarot pairing! Have you tried pairing the Dark Crystal Tarot with the Froud Fairies Oracle? Seems like they might work well together.
