@Neal Laugman Hofner Ignition is a good place to start for full-hollow bodies, If you're fine with a semi hollow, the Hofner HCT contemporary, Allen Woody rumblekat, and the Epiphone Rivoli reissue are pretty groovy.

Alternative picking bass, and even ambient hand percussions have gone back in recorded video, all the way back to the British Invasion, and the Pop Rock of the '60s/'70s, even Surf Rock. The bassist from The Animals, the bassist from The Zombies. Two of Roy Orbison's favorite session players. And, don't even get me started on all the recording techniques and ambient percussions used in Outlaw Country.

It's just fingerstyle but most bassist rely on slapp tap or a different form of fibgerstyle. The nail (pick) is just uncommon I think that's what he ment

I like the way he plays and all but I also do think that he is not really showing what makes bass unique. I mean, bass is not guitar and a good bassist knows that. I'm not saying in any way that the legendary Seiji Igusa can't play, but insthead I'm trying to express the fact that bass has an peculiar sound that I can recognize everywhere but here. Still sounds pretty good tho!
