Interesting - almost an evolution of Robert Packs bats back in the mid noughties that used a carbon shaft, and where banned my the MCC - Great to see this kind of innovation, and for GN to keep thinking outside the grain

Interesting idea. Once you've got the handle hole in far enough, no reason you couldn't have multiple smaller cores inside, as long as the drill will fit. Could have a twin internal scoop or even a honeycomb of small holes. Could do very interesting things to the vibrational characteristics of the bat as well as MOI. I wonder if anyone has ever used a conventional bat but drilled upwards from the toe and then installed a wooden plug in the toe to do the same thing. Not sure what the MCC will make of all this though.

I've always thought that a slotted handle might stress the willow too much. But I guess the section of the handle in the bat remains stiff enough....

Is this new handle design more complicated to rehandle? Can you still do a rehandle service should the handle break (as they must occasionally do)

I'm pretty sure that's Babar Azam, not Virat Kohli. Coz Gray Nicolls sponsors Babar, not Virat.

@@abinashdas3103Why would a brand show the trigger movements of a player whom they don't sponsor? If not Babar, it could be Williamson, Rizwan, Darryl Mitchell, Cameron Green, Mitch Marsh, Ollie Pope, Zak Crawley, or Harry Brook. But it's definitely not Virat, coz Gray Nicolls doesn't sponsor anyone from the current Indian roster, yet.

but what happens when ur handle inevitably breaks or snap and needs replacing. are you going to re - auger that centre core? or be foreced to buy a new bat. because a traditional V handle will obviously not work!?!??!?!?

Grey Nicolls are the apple from which ss and sg copy. The reason for a Gray Nicolls being superior than any ss or sg, is simple they spend on R&D whereas ss spends on advertising. Kudos to Gray Nicolls team for daring to dream in such a technology hindered market, 40-30 is a curse. ICC let the cook the apple pie. Ps. A proud owner of an 7 year old cobra GN. But the beast has retired now, may his soul be held in the hands of Sir Bradman.

Dont compare apple with mango. Most of current player rate SS higher over Grey nicolls. Anything that made by other country except Australia and england make you racist jealous.

@@mrleggie.2887 nope, SS bat too are as costlier as Grey nicolls. SS have very wide range of bats ranging from very cheap to expensive as 1000 bucks.

@@sachinkashyap121 good luck getting a good ss/sg willow for under 20k. If you can spend 20k+ go for ss/sg. But for under 20k you only have Gray Nicolls or BAS or BDM. Good hard pressed bats, perfect pick up and balance. Ps:I know you have never owned a decent bat, ask any pro ranji player, they will agree with me, for we have to spend such copious money, neither Babar nor SKY will buy that bat for you. Ignorance leads to people buy mixed willow from ss/sg for 12-15k.

Don’t get personal if you can’t handle any even a decent reply. Btw I have a very recognised sport outlet. Any decent bat cost nearly 80k to 100k nowdays. That 20k one were used by local club cricketers, ranji and international players don’t buy these cheap one

All they have done is put the scoop inside. It’s because players like the modern look . Taking weight out of the inside is the same as taking it out of the back.

Design seems more like graynicolls wants players to buy a new bat everytime the handle on one of these eventually breaks. Bad quality wood+bad design for repairs = More firewood for winter.

First time in my life, I see that someone is talking about BAT engineering and the engineering is that they drilled the handle inside BAT. Is this the engineering to laugh or cry.
