Lower back pain is the worst. I tend to use the interior corner kitchen worktop. Face away from it. Place your hands flat on the worktop. Straighten your arms to raise yourself up. Bend your knees slightly so your arms are taking the full weight. Slowly and I do mean slowly twist your knees from side to side. Two or three times. Hopefully something will click back into place. I have to do this when my sciatica plays up.

Great Wednesday special. Steve get yourself a sports massage for your bad back .
@jeffreyberry52707 ай бұрын
Sounds like a moderate back spasm. Happens when you stress the muscle in a way it’s not used to. Usually just light movement to ease the spasm will work. If it persists, try a bit of heat to the area and rest will do the trick.

Stretches are good for lower back pain Stevie lad. Lay on ya back and do so some sets of 10 alternate knees to chest raises. Do some sets of lower back rotations, lay on back, knees bent and together and rotate left to right until your knees touch the floor. Cat dog stretches are also good. Get on all fours on the floor and arch your back up like a cat then down like a dog. Few sets of those. 10-15 minutes 3 times a day and you should feel it easing. Physios taught me these after breaking my back and neck in a car crash. I still suffer with lower back pain and these stretches help me so much and gets me back up and running quicker than just rest

If your back issue is muscular then ibuprofen and hot and cold packs work. I did my back when working as a gardener, however mine ended up being a prolapsed L5-S1 lumbar disc which needed surgery and hasn't been right since. Hope yours isn't that bad, take it easy and look after your back as it's debilitating living with constant back pain. Best of luck.

Fencing looks great, but why not consider offering maybe one gravel board in each run with a preformed hole to let hedgehogs have bigger areas to roam. They have no way getting past solid concrete boards and they’re in huge decline in this country. I’m sure a lot of customers would be ok with that. Keep up the great work.
@DJProjectss7 ай бұрын
How do you know we didn’t? lol. But also not everyone wants hedgehogs in there gardens unfortunately
@seasons75107 ай бұрын
Just wondering with your extra space would you expand into benches/planters/swing seats for gardens also concrete animals etc for gardens an add on for d&j with all the experience on concrete and wood sides giving them a bit of variety

Go to a chiropractor that's good Stevie. Works wonders. In the meantime use gel ice packs you can get them from the pharmacy. (you might be able to claim for the chiropractor on the business as a work related injury ask your accountant). If it feels painful put a hot water bottle wrapped in a tee towel on your stomach. The difference in sensation will cancel each other out. It will reduce swelling. Try not to over use your back for a few days so it won't get worse. Take some ibrufen. But get to a chiropractor that's good. Ask around.

Good work on the fencing. In bad weather like that do you ever get any feedback on the condition of the lawn afterwards? It can’t be helped of course but just wondered if it ever causes an issue at this time of year with the weather?? 😊

Great video guys….not trying to tell you your job stevie mate…. But if you started that fence from the house where there was a shorter bay you would of missed all the old post….I understand it’s harder to do if the ground is running up hill but you managed to keep it level….I know just how hard it is to get the old concrete out when the posts have been snapped off!! lol nightmare….but again a brilliant fence install mate…❤

Not a criticism, you boys are the best! How does it work with the customer's garden/grass/etc when it's wet like that. Do you say "we ok to just churn this up" or is it expected or how does it work? I'm sure you could throw a board down or whatever. I'm sure it has to be agreed as you leave sites so tidy. Honest qestion!

If your Back goes. Ice for 24hrs - no heat at all. Easiest trick is a bag of peas from the freezer put it on the pain (tea towel in between if needed) for 15-20 mins then return to the freezer. Repeat every hour as much as you can. Day 2/3 onwards occasional heat (deep heat will do)

Having lower back problems, a good technique is to lay face down with your head turned to one side then the other. Do this for 20 count for each side. Make sure you breath and relax your lower back. Having done this for 3x, sit up with your legs stretched before you and slightly lean forward and get a good hamstring stretch. You can also lay on your back bring your heels up to your bottom and perform bridges to the count of 15 for 3 sets. Do 30 squats (3 sets of ten) from now on and you wont have back issues. Cheers!

@1MartinWaite7 ай бұрын
Good afternoon D&J team …Stevie I know how you feel with you’re back as I done mine 25 years ago by slipping on painted concrete floor with an oil water mix puddle on it while I thought I’d missed stepping in the puddle I still stepped in the more oily edge of the puddle and instead of falling and my work mates laughing at me I sort of caught myself but in doing so I ripped the muscle away from the lower left side of my spine! The pain was surreal but I managed to finish my shift of as most of it was sitting writing up my report. When I got home I could hardly move and ended up going on the sick for about 4months after numerous hospital visits I went private through my works medical insurance and I finally got an MRI and CT scan and found out the muscle had torn away from the spine and it was to late to do anything about it. So I’m in pain 24/7/365 with no chance of it getting better in fact it’s getting worse all the time. I went back to work on light duties and I was moved to different roles within the factory until it got to the stage where I was using walking sticks to walk and eventually I have ended up in a wheelchair I’ve been taking morphine daily to try easing the pain but it’s just a temporary reduction. When I got to using the walking sticks I was sent home from: work for my own safety and told not to come back unless I could walk without the sticks and after a year they finished me through ill health and fortunately I’d paid into the works pension scheme and I was pensioned off through my ill health and got my full pension as if I was 65 as I was unable to work again I was only 47 at the time but I still live day to day wishing I’d fallen into the puddle as I may well not of hurt myself as much maybe just my pride. Now I tell you all this to say please be careful with your back you only get one and you need it. So my suggestion is to take a bath o hot one then rub some voltarub into the area where the pain is then put a hot water bottle against that area for about 20minutes then swap the hwb for a bag of frozen peas for another 20 minutes then keep moving about don’t rest it try to keep moving as they found that resting your bad back is beneficial but please take it easy until it healed then a bit longer. Also take paracetamol then alternate every two hours with ibuprofen which will help reduce the pain and reduce inflammation. By the way good fence job but it would have been better if customers had left the posts then you would have had the advantage of leverage to remove the solid concrete. Never mind you and young Jack done a good job with them fences. One other thing Stevie you are getting better but please stop swinging the camera around as it’s bad to watch it went you do it, thank you. Nice to see Bernie and Chelsea getting the video I’d love to see @ full video of a day in the office with them especially since they are a person down this year. Anyway hurry up Sunday when I can carry on living through yous all.
