Lua was admitted to our Northern Rivers Koala Hospital with severe chlamydial cystitis, she had also developed cysts. When a female koala develops cysts it can often mean that treatment and subsequent recovery is difficult.
We are thrilled with Lua's successful release - another female koala back in the wild. Hooray for Lua, her successful release and the team who looked after her so well. Thanks Nicci for the great footage!
Chlamydia is the number disease threat to koalas in the Northern Rivers region. We are so proud to be the only wildlife hospital currently licenced to vaccinate every single koala that is released. We have the potential to save hundreds of koalas each year if we are able to stop Chlamydia from infecting the population. Please consider donating to help us save more koalas. friendsoftheko...
