Bodysurfing is not just an incredible teaching tool for us here at Bodhi Surf + Yoga, it is also an amazing form of meaningful play, and even a source of healing.
This video explains what bodysurfing is and its importance for surfers and beach-goers alike. It also features a beginner bodysurf tutorial for complete novices to understand what learning to bodysurf will consist of: how to catch whitewater waves with no equipment, how to use a bodysurf handplane and swim fins, and how to catch unbroken or “green-blue” waves once you get comfortable in the shallow water.
We highly encourage everyone to learn how to bodysurf. It is a very accessible and enjoyable pastime which is defined by its simplicity.
