You know- when I got S;G elite on switch back in late 2019, I was still in Highschool and most of the VN were not translated at the time. And by the time I entered college, there was video of going beyond Steins gate and it trouble of reading the vn. 5 years later, we pretty much have every single main entry, and hopefully we get the spin offs like what we got for steins gate. Really love videos like this explain the (at the time) of being of a fan of the series.

I love the series, here are my thoughts on all of them: Chaos;Head Noah: a weird masterpiece. Its narrative choices make it difficult to parse, but they are so worth it. Even nowadays it still is a gripping and beautiful psychological horror game. Steins;Gate: a more mainstream masterpiece. The tight time travel story and charming characters made it one of the most popular stories in the medium. It takes the foundations of Chaos;Head and makes what worked on that novel accessible with a, still, complicated story full of thrills. Robotic;Notes: a flawed and all-compassing masterpiece. Character driven, full of slice-of-life and, at the same time, the first conclusion of the series. Contains the best character dynamic of the leads (Kai, Aki and Misato's relationship). The ending is incredible, despite being flawed and leaving some character plots hanging. Chaos;Child: the first sequel and another masterpiece. Thematically thick with themes of grief and family, it contains a story that is in conversation with Chaos;Head. It has a couple of weak characters (C;H too, but this time you cannot hide that amongst Takumi's extreme behaviour), nonetheless it has my favorite ending of all the series. Steins; Gate 0: a midquel and the first I do not consider a full masterpiece. Steins;Gate 0 is still fantastic and its non-linearity is at its best during mid-game, where the time travel sheananigans are no longer under your control. At worst, it contains endings that lack the punch of the original and the real ending is a bit anticlimactic, albeit fantastic in lieu of the non-linearity. Occultic;Nine: the worst across the series. I only watched the anime, but despite the great visuals, the exposition-driven execution makes it difficult to connect with the characters. It has good ideas, albeit mixed with now well-established tropes in the seried, and makes for a mixed-bag experience. Robotic;Notes DaSH: a nice holiday pack. A direct sequel to Robotic;Notes, at best is a great way of tying some thematic threads for the original. At worst the pervy Daru jokes are just too much for most of non-japanese audiences. It has great ideas and works at its best when the cast is caring for each other. Nonetheless, it is normal it is so divisive amongst the fans. Anonymous;Code: the latest entry. A high-octane conclusion for the series. The way characters are introduced is similar to O;9, which I am not the fondest of, however, the structure of missions, the great action and hacking plans and a core cast that actually you end up caring about, makes the game an absolute thrill and the best in the series since Chaos;Child. A beast of its own, I wish they added a bit more meat in the future to spend some more time with the secondary cast.
@mariogarciaurena1104Ай бұрын
For the spin-offs: Chaos;Head Love Chu Chu: worthy for the Taku/Rime relationship. The rest is pretty much any ecchi/comedy manga from early 00s. S;G Darling; a fun little adventure. Has some fun routes, not much more. Chaos;Child love chu chu: an aberration. An excuse to put the characters into pervy situations in the worst executed way possible with very uncomfortable scenarios.

This is a great video. Good on you for putting this out there and getting more people into the larger Sciadv series. I personally never thought much of the series, I think Chaos Head Noah is quite mediocre and Steins Gate, while good, I find to be significantly overrated. But then I read Chaos Child, and that is one of the few 10/10 visual novels I've ever read. It's something I'd call a genuine masterpiece and it blew me away and shocked me to my core more times than I can count. It's one of those few stories where, if memory wiping a story from my mind was possible, I'd pay a ludicrous amount of money to do it and experience this tale blind again. My overall point for anyone reading is, even if you don't like, or aren't particularly fond of, an entry in this series, that doesn't mean you shouldn't give the others a try. Despite being in the same series and having similar names, and even covering similar themes and topics, these are VERY differrent stories with VERY different characters and plots, despite how similar they may seem on the surface.

Wonderful, i wnated a refresher on all sciadv content and it was a great watch, although i would move some things around such as the more popular things such as anime adapations earlier in the video and tried to kind of juggle the attention span between things that most people did heard of and things they didn't to keep the pacing at a steady rate
@bassman.sharingan123413 ай бұрын
Thank you for the feedback! I also thought about doing it that way but ultimately, the reason I had side material before adaptations was because of Steins;Gate 0. It just wouldn't make sense to talk about the 0 anime before the 0 VN. So I structured it this way in the end.
@4livetv9343 ай бұрын
@@bassman.sharingan12341I see, that's a good reason. But maybe I would prefer a little chaos (pun not intended) in presenting order in cost of better pacing, still watched the whole video nonetheless tho

The easiest and most accessible way to get into Occultic;Nine is just the 12-episode anime. But I would still recommend the 3 light novel volumes beforehand. They're a lot more detailed. You can find them on J-Novel Club's website or on various other common ebook storefronts.

Watching this video again, I have a question. If anyday someone decides to adapt these visual novels of Science Adventure into live-action, will 2 or 3 seasons of one hour episodes will be enough? If you can, please answer guys.
@bassman.sharingan123412 ай бұрын
Adapting SciADV into live-action - even if Japanese-made - would be quite challenging. Ignoring concept-related difficulties, you'd ideally need a full season of hour-long episodes for each entry. But each entry is of a different length so the number of episodes would be different for each title. S;G for instance could work in 8 hour-long episodes. But R;N or C;C would need 12 hour-long episodes.
