While I understand what he's saying, this method of classification is arguably the worst way to classify motorhomes. Class should refer to size not style, just like most systems that use a classification system. Your drivers license for example. Really, with any operators license the class determines how large a vehicle you can legally operate. I understand a convertible is a vehicle where the top can be removed, and a truck has a separate cab and cargo area. But those are styles, not classes. According to this way of classification, a Class A motorhome can be 20 ft long and a Class C 40 ft long. If this is the case, because they were built the way he describes it, what's the point of classifying any of them? With this method any class can be any size. Doesn't make any sense.

Unfortunately we did not make up the classification system for RVs. This has been standard in the industry for a very long time. The purpose of the classification system is to differentiate between styles, not sizes.

@@MillersRV You just proved my point. With this system any is possible so it doesn't make sense to even try to classify. It's like having a class a driver's license with endorsements for b-h. At the end of the day they are all mobile homes. They're either motorized or pull. Don't get me wrong. I understand what you're saying. I just don't think that's the best way. At one point, motor home classes were defined by length. What happened to that?
