Our FLGS (who isnt any of those things..) basically banned the german faction, because they thought it would offend someone. it did; we all stopped playing there. they're currently on the rocks, we'll see if they learn.

You forgot Snap-to and the extra activation that it gives. i use this to great ecdect provided your HQ has the officer and the 2 extra guys in. Snap to allow you to overload that part of the field by getting 3 pins down, eother against 3 units, or 3 pins on one etc etc. Panzerfausts are the best things for keeping enemy tanks at bay (hesitant at least) although LMGs and MMGs om jngnatry still arnet worth it unless you get the 3 man LMG team which is very worth it. I just take dudes with rifles and mayeb mix in an SMG or 2 for key upfront units. Works for me. The Flak 37 Zwilling Heavy autocannon AA gun is magnificent at only 70pts regualr but 4 heavy autocannon shots. Its a near auto include for me. Good vid, look forward to more 👍🏻

Well, I am building Germans for myself because I need some generic bad guys for my stop motion centered other YT channel’s stories… 😅 That is one of my reasons for having them, while the other reason is that I can build Finns from early war Germans with little tinkering…

if you ask yourself if you have enough faust? its because you don't have enough, those 6 pen shots makes so i never need a bigger investment in a tank/scout car and can just faust anything from a Sherman to a truck, sure it doesn't perform as well against bigger targets but at that point cost the tools are greatly reduced anyway and how many times are you going to have a effective use of at for more than 2 or 3 turns then have a overcosted tank or bazooka?

Their rules are incredibly situational, if your playing a mission with night fighting/ limited visibility. Winter/Grenadier or SS plastic box sets are a good starting point, you can build a 500pt army from a single box.

Oh Germany was my first faction and my top 3 vehicles for them that I use is the SD Kfz 251/16 Flammepanzerm, eerrrrrrrrrrrr sorry war crimes on steroids flamethrower halftrack, then it's Hitler Buzzsaw with autocannons SD Kfz 251/21 Drilling brother. And finally my brick from hell SD Kfz 166 Brummbar. Then for my infantry usually at 8 man strength, it really is a tie with my neat toys that only they get Sturmpioniers with their Sturmpistol and GrB-39 grenade launcher. Which is one of the only dual weapons system that infantry can get as you can use it as a light mortar with a 6-24" range of indirect fire or go with an AT shape charge at 24" range just like a Panzerschreck but with a +3 pen not a 6.The Sturmpistol really is a waste but it is so satisfying if you get right up close and personal to a M-4 or Cromwell and pop it in the side with it's 6" range +3 pen shape charge round. It really is a laugh a minute weapon that I take out just for the LOL factor. The Sturmpioniers are the only ones to get and use these weapons no one else can. Then like you I love my chance to get veterans Volk Grenadiers with 3 to 4 Stg-44's, 2 panzerfaust and a LMG.

IMO The buzz saw rule used with lmg spammed vet units is pretty close to game breaking just like Japanese spear fighter spamming is game breaking.

All true but putting bigger guns on smaller chassis caused all kinds of logistical issues and manufacturing issues in real life. Hitler was obsessed by putting the biggest guns he could on absolutely everything. Produced by far superior tanks , but extremely time consuming to make and prone to breakdowns in the field. But yes on the tabletop amazing 🤩

That's not true in all cases. The Nashorn for example was a great weapon. Ditto for the hetzer. But having the King Tiger use the same overtaxed Maybach that the Panther used does lend truth to your statement

Really? I'm not sure I agree. Nerfing Tiger fear didnt help- but never losing a squad leader and +1 snap to action, +1 dice on all MG fire plus panzerfausts and assault rifles are a nice advantage!

@@jandoernte3312 I think if you look at the other four main factions, the German rules are definitely the weakest. The German rules cost points (buying big tanks, buying machine guns). Usually not losing a squad leader is a nice little bonus, but isn't anywhere near what the other factions get. The British and Soviet national rules both get a free order die. That's pretty huge in Bolt Action. Additionally, their other rules don't cost any points. British Characteristics apply to all infantry units, Soviets re-roll morale tests, Japanese are all fanatics and the Americans are great at shooting and coming off reserves. The Germans have expensive units and are naturally behind on order dice. Comparing 1 extra dice when shooting machine guns pales in comparison to a British rifle squad getting 3 extra dice for no extra cost. These are just my thoughts about Bolt Action. To be honest, I'm kind of out of Bolt Action because of its gaminess. I find that it is a game written as a Beer and Pretzels game but is played as a tournament game and I personally find that combination difficult and frustrating.

@Mordian I absolutely love you videos but please would you be a little more careful with the actual history? It would be very appreciated. Stating outright that Germany started the war is rather questionable, as I would argue that would be Japan. Germany also surrendered before Japan did. Of course I know you love you Japs, but I've been noticing with a few of the Bolt Action vids the history gets lost sometimes. Either way, much respect.

It does seem the history gets lost. Like how the Soviets invaded Poland with the Germans. That's always overlooked or forgotten. Or how the Germans used twice as many horses in WWII as they did in WWI yet you never ever see horses in film or games. Or that there were less than 2,000 Tiger Tanks built yet they're so prevalent in media.

As clueless as politicians can be sometimes (and with much respect to Poland) - making Germany and the USSR into allies probably wouldn't have been the smartest move. And they did fulfill their obligation to declare war on Germany before the Soviets atta... er... moved to protect their Polish brethren from further German encroachment on their sovereignty. @@christianwesterman5033
