My father's parents came to Fresno in 1913. My late father was a bell hop at both the Fresno Hotel and the Californian. There many movie stars and a few presidents who visited both hotels. I used to go to the JC Penneys Dept Store as a kid, and shopping the mezzanine. I often went down there to shop in my early 20's. My father grew up in Old German Town, and so did my grandmother on my mother's side. My dad attended the Evangelical Lutheran Cross Church. So much has changed in my home town!

Those buildings are Marvel's of engineering... That one by Chukchansi park would be crazy cool...... And let's not forget about the building with freaking marble floors... Imagine reopening hotel Fresno to be inspired by NYC's Plaza hotel... One can only imagine...

I think we need to asses our gang/violence issue here first before we start remodeling old buildings. They’ve been sitting long enough, they can wait.. our violence is out of control but sadly who knows if it will change..

It’s truly a shame how they let downtown Fresno fall, there is no reason to go downtown anymore, they need to definitely restore it.

I remember going with sister's and brother to J.C.Penny's for school shopping. Our mom would lead the way. This was most of the 60 and 70s.

never knew about these treasure in downtown Fresno Since we left Fresno in 2005 and now living in Chandler AZ. who knows what treasure building we might find in Downtown Chandler and Phoenix.

They can't tear down the Bank of Italy Building and the Hotel Fresno because They're Historic Landmarks.

And this is what keep downtown Fresno looking like crap,knock those POS run down buildings and build some new 20-30 story buildings and start looking like a modern city of 530,000
