The sauteed vegetables, eggplant, the freshness of the mint with the rest of the salad, the cheese, the good amount of mild heat tingling, the creamy potatoes, the deliciousness of that well seasoned chicken... It's a flavor orgy, and then they have the complementary black tea offered to the customers. All of that and a Coke, times 2 for me and my boyfriend, for just € 11.20. Döner is usually about the meat here rather than the sauces and veggies. .We usually only have onions and tomatoes. Maybe a bit iceberg. Alternate facts alert! Bro, Turks did not rebuild Germany after WW2, that's completely inaccurate. The treaty between Germany and Turkey to have guest workers come over for a couple of years (they were supposed to go back home) was made in 1961, 16 years after the end of WWII. Germany was not only rebuild by that time already, Germany was in desperate need of laborers because it was in the middle of the "Wirtschaftswunder" (economic wonder years). But thanks for Döner Kebab, Sucuk and all the other delicious foods. By the way, Germany had a similar treaty with Italy starting 1955. That's why there are that many Italian restaurants in Berlin, too.

The Döner kebab in the Netherlands has been here for 2 decades now, straight in from our german neighbour. Damn these things remain really, really good. This is european comfort food at its best! Also, it is THE best way to spend saturday night after a lot of alcohol and partying. Keep that in mind tourists! I also believe among pizza, the döner kebab is one of the most ordered things from delivery restaurants. It counts as a meal! I wonder how much the difference will be, between our versions. I recognise every condiment. But here we also have green pepper slices and feta cheese as condiments, plus we use slightly different sauces: Garlic, Harissa and coctail sauce. You could also order a secret menu (for some) and that is a turkish pizza wrap instead of a 'dürum' wrap if you want to get fat fast.. And for the vegetarians, they also make a falafel version. Only downside of these great food is the price. A decade ago it costed 50 percent less than today, plus they seem to be sparse with condiments lately. Don't know if the same thing is happening in Germany, but then again meat is pretty cheap in Germany...

The Berlin kebab are the best, First time i was in Berlin a few years ago (I'am a Swede) we ate breakfast every day at a kebab stand at zoologischer garten station they had an amazing sallad made of cabbage, parsley, onions, cucomber and tomatoes with hot and garlic sausage. I need to go again just for the food and beer.

Turkish guy here. I know many people are praising Imren but I would happily and regularly visit Balli. I love dürüm döner, especially like Andong: Extra fries. Would want them to toast the dürüm a little bit more just to get some crispiness on the bread.

come to turkey and taste classic turkish döner andong. quality of meat and how is cooked is unparalleled. there is also a much much sicker horizontal version called cağ. would be happy to offer some places around turkey if you like. keep up the great work. pleasure to follow you.

Classic Döner kebab is nothing special in Turkey. One should try some good places with Yaprak Döner in lavash bread, go to Bursa for some classical Iskender Kebap or to some Anatolian restaurant with Adana, Urfa or Antep style kebaps. I think you never have tried Berliner Döner, you wouldnt mix it up with what you can eat in İstanbul etc. It's far more better than you would expect.

I had my first Berlin Doner in Toronto Canada of all places. At first I thought it was like a shawarma. It was a beast. It looked authentic. Homemade triangle bread and hot sauce. The owner is an old indian man from Berlin. Afterwards, you take a nap.

Trümmerfrauen are a myth. My OMI told me this. She lived in Hannover one of the most f.ed up cities in WWII. 90% of all buildungs were ruins. Heavy machinery and mostly men did the work. The rebuilding of the economy was done with the Marshall Plan. The Gastarbeiter put Germany in the dominant economical place it is now. Most of infrastructure, buildings, industry, universities etc etc etc were build by Gastarbeiter. The heavy reliance on heavy-industry jobs is the factor for high unemployment under Gastarbeiter 2nd generation.
