A better bet than BMW X5? Polestar 3 2025 review: New electric SUV attempts to reset EV benchmark

The 2025 Polestar 3 is a large SUV that you've never heard of, but that's about to change if it's headline numbers are anything to go by. Of course, the new Swedish model is a fully electric vehicle, with it playing in the premium segment, which is currently occupied by the BMW iX and Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV. That said, the petrol-powered BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE are worthy alternatives.
It's hard to ignore the new Polestar 3, though, as it stands out from the crowd with its Scandinavian design, but under the metal it offers up to 610km of WLTP-rated driving range from a 111kWh battery, and up to 380kW/910Nm of dual-motor all-wheel-drive performance.
In this expert review, CarsGuide Contributing Journalist Byron Mathioudakis heads over to Spain to get behind the wheel of the Polestar 3 ahead of its Australian release date, with prices starting from $132,900 plus on-road costs.

nimble at 2.8 tonnes? the constant reference to sweden for chinese manufactured car where the labor rates are far lower than Europe but the price of a car isnt? sounds like a sponsorship add more than a critical review - whats going on guys i used to look forward to your reviews

Paying for the spec. Find a car with active dampers active torque vectoring an active decoupling mech and air suspension for less than 80k. There isn't one. This spec from the Germans would be north of 100k
