The Audi A7 used to have the glorious V8 that gave you a delicious surge of torque. With that gone we now have the 2.9L twin turbo V6 taken straight from the Porsche Panamera 4S! If you are familiar with the Audi line-up, you know that this same engine was also used in the Audi RS5 , RS5, & RS5 Sportback. However, those vehicles are much more focused on performance. I was going to say the Honda Accord Sport has 235 width tires, I knew the S7 had to be equipped with wider tires than that. Sad to say, but I actually think the Veloster N has better crackles and pops than this $106K Audi S7.

I think it depends on the other trim. I like nardo/rotor grey with the blackout trim, but with the silver trim I actually think red or firmament blue looks pretty nice, and normally I don't go for red cars.

Steering wheel yes is light around town but the harder you push the car the tighter it gets. At 90mph feels go cart tight. Great review!

love your channel, thank you for including the interior at night, great add! I feel the POV needs to be removed from your head with a stationary camera attached to the underside of the sunroof so the camera is not constantly moving around. But still, great work, love your commentary!

Great video and review! You always do great reviews. I purchased the A7 2019 version and love it.Im 6ft 1 and as far as the back seating goes as long as you are seated in a bit of a S position for the spine like you suggested you will be fine .My son is 6ft2 and hes ok as long as he doesnt sit straight back with his spine straight

I could be wrong. But I believe the pop-up Bang & Olufsen "tweeters" are actually acoustic lenses for measuring the amount of reflected sound waves that it sends back through it’s processor and amp to adjust everything that an open window or another passenger or anything at all really that potentially changes the way you’re hearing your music, and fixes that s**t. So you won’t have to. It’s pretty cool to watch and hear in person.

Makes sense now. To my knowledge you can’t get a regular A7 with the black optic package anymore. But the S7 can option it with those wheels.

Wheelman GT love the CLS got a 06 cls 500 and thing is still a beauty great on Mercedes for the timeless design. Tesla model s was based off cls too.

Funny you say about the light steering; my wife's 2018 A4 fwd has pretty light steering as well, but no where near as bad as my old F23 228i. The F23 dead spot was horrible, even at freeway speeds, but the A4 seems to tighten up at freeway speeds a bit. Light steering is not necessarily a bad thing as long as it's communicative; electric steering vs. HPS though...

Great review. I have a 2017 S7 with a lease about to expire. I was considering getting a new one for the updated tech but was completely surprised they ditched the V8 for the V6. Although the V6 sounds better than expected, it still IMO doesn't rival the V8 -- plus you are sacrificing a few HP (V8 has 450). It would be great to do a sound comparison between the V8 and V6 models... anyway, I just can't get around this significant change and probably won't be going for the new S7 for a new lease. I don't know if I can justify going to an RS7 either just for the V8.

Ok... great review! One thing that concerns me is the exhaust sound. It sounded so weak.... my 2018 S6 with sports exhaust sounds way better. Perhaps because mine is V8T and the new cars are V6’s?

I have A4 b9 I love the steering its light but just right I did a Maneuver on the highway that scared my brother to death but it was it was so graceful so precise this car can make them worse driver even look good and I wasn't and even used to driving a car yet I absolutely love my audi

Owned the previous generation S7 and it was a great car, but the steering was too loose as you noticed and the car pushed too much. Audi seems unwilling to move the engine back as this would lessen the 4 wheel drive attributes, so you sacrifice driving feel for better grip in the snow. I would lean Porsche 4S for that reason.

StrainedDig4 same here, i have a 16’ S6 ordered and bought, in April of 16’ , paid for and 42k miles..loved it everyday in Pacific Northwest , dealer ringing me almost monthly for last yr to get in replace it rs 5 or S6 and S7, despite what most people who thinks they know about Audi and claimed maintenance..I have done 4 oils changes full synthetic and basic checks and a set of front brakes fully replaced under warranty at 11k miles ( squeaky) that said I befriended a customer of mine who own and operates a European car specialist shop near me who’s taking care of me last yr and a half, which indicates me car is great shape w even 40 percent brakes and rotors left..oil changes and a new set of tires so far..knock on wood, even wiper blades in PNW weather is still original..

Entertain Me I run Nokian WRG3 in winter and Michelin Pilot 4S in summer, 19” winter 20” summer. Had the car repainted by the dealer last fall, original color, due to rock chips and minimal rust along the wheel arches (NE road salt and grit). Took the money for my 2020 RS7 and spent it on my S7 and other things. I don’t like fake noises, fake exhaust and 1974 Thunderbird rear lights on my cars! Front grille is too big and not refined looking (looks aftermarket slap on) on the RS7 and RS6. Not my taste so I cancelled my preorder.

StrainedDig4 I’ve heard great things on Nokian snow tires, under used and under appreciated in USA so far, that said big suv in America is better in adverse snowy conditions, all season tires on my 2018 Escalade with its weight and awd feels much more secured in deep water and slush and fresh snow..

Entertain Me I run them on my A6, S7 and Land Rover Sport. All run WRG3’s, except the SUV which run the WRG3 SUV. A7 and S4 run Michelin ICE. I have used Blizzak before but too squishy and much lower braking/cornering on mixed surfaces. I stick to Nokian.

I really don’t understand how the rs5 sounds so bad yet every other cars with the same 2.9tt v6 doesn’t! the s7, s6, panamera, Macan turbo and even the cayenne S, all sound so much better!

Thanks for the video. First, I have been driving 550's from BMW. And I recently visited Audi. Nice cars, drove several variants. Never drove a RS car but like the look of the Audi. Although, BMW has much better driver dynamic with a feeling like its planted and the shifts are amazing in a BMW. Although BMW cant seem to build a v-8 that does not leak oil these v-6' are really delivering great numbers. I dont want a car that makes silly exhaust sounds. I then went back over to BMW and felt the drivers feel was much more aggressive and spirited vs. the AUDI. I drove the "S" models and couldn't wrap myself around the feel of it like I can a BMW. And the wimpy steering wheel on the AUDI was disappointing.

Adam Y you are correct.audi seems to make more beautiful cars model vs model compared to bmw, but bmw just drives way more engagingly. I was very disappointed at how loose the steering felt in s4 and s7 I test drove (and wanted to like). I had a 335i and a f80m3 (not my fault Audi didn’t have comparative model for that in America) and now I’m back to bmw and enjoying the m550i instead

Elton Elzee Thank you! I understand where you are coming from but I think that this has a much better price tag and I personally prefer the looks. To get a Panamera 4S similarly equipped to this S7 ($106,000) it will cost around $130,000 on the Porsche. The Porsche will handle slightly better with more feel though! Either way, I’m sure you would not go wrong with either! Merry Christmas!! 🎄

I actually prefer this S7 design over the Panamera although the Porsche is a good looking car as well. This S7 just has a more stylish design in my opinion. Audi also includes more tech than Porsche who still refuse to offer Android Auto in their infotainment.

Last year, I traded my 2016 A7 Prestige for the new Q8. Transmission and problems with the screens made me trade the Q8 for a 2018 S6. Now I'm loving life! Oh, and the exhaust on the 2020 S7 sounds like crap!

Panamera? Not even close, except the fact that the Panamera has an Audi engine, not the other way around. The Panamera is all about the rear seat, the Audi has a typical compact car backseat.
