Yep! Have been using them for a couple years. But they are gentle.

Please note that not all wires are replaced by fiber optics inside. There are still copper ones inside the cable to transport the audio channels and the power.

Thanks for confirming that Fiber HDMI works with this camera.

Did you check if the color picture profile of the tv was the same on both hdmi inputs? That's probably why ther's a difference on the tv and not on the capture card.

this would be my guess
@Foundery2 жыл бұрын
Yes, both inputs were set the same, and as I said (quickly) in the video I tried switching the physical ports I was using on the TV and the HDMI splitter. The result was consistent which is weird. That TV has been around for a while, so maybe it's overly sensitive to something?? This is why I wanted to do a direct capture. It's hard to see in the video but even in the capture their is a similar difference just way more subtle.

Love your channel and all the tests and tutorials you do, very explanatory and straight to the point. I would like to suggest, in the line of this kind of reviews/test of connecting large distances, the solution of a wireless hdmi video transmitter. Is there any budget solution you recommend? Thanks
@Foundery Жыл бұрын
So budget is hard on this one because of how much computing power it takes to encode, send, and decode full HD video without a ton of latency. So I did a review of the best option I found and that we use two of every week: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3TKZ6l5acmqo6s At $430 it's not what I would call budget, but they can run north of $1000 so it isn't bad. amzn.to/3us7tNj

that splitter is a potential loss creator, impedance-wise? - better wqithout? - maybe w'washed-out .vieling will be removed?interesting video. is there a backward-compatibility issue.limitation-penalty, using fibre-equipped HDMI cable?

Can you use an active fiber optic HDMI cable with an active displayport to HDMI adapter?
@SlyNine Жыл бұрын
The EDID still runs on copper, at least on the shorter optical hdmi cables. I've had to add ferrite cores to deal with interference.

Thank you for the content. I am trying to hook up 3 monitors about 100 ft from the laptop for church presentations. We are using HDMI wireless TX to RX . Can you speak about any concerns or troubleshooting ideas? One Monitor is not showing up on the Laptop for display. Thank you in advance.

Your videos are great but if I hear um one more time I might implode lol

Love the videos. One comment on this is that the fiber HDMI should also allow audio as well as video, if that were desired, which you can't get from the Ethernet connection.
@estusflask9822 жыл бұрын
The ethernet option does have audio, of course.

Where I live I can't buy fiber HDMI at the same price as an ethernet extender.
