I've been using RUIPRO HDMI 2.1 cables off Amazon for some time now and with recent system changes, I wanted to pull another one, so I took the opportunity to swap some runs with their new Crystal 8K HDMI 2.1b Certified active fiber optic cables. I'll discuss these cables and the logistics of my HDMI runs. If you could use some of these in your setup, please consider shopping them on Amazon through my affiliate link. amzn.to/3FYHW3U Thank you for doing all the regular KZbin stuff (like, subscribe, comment, share, and enable notifications) and for supporting the channel!

HDMI cables are so finicky. Thanks for promoting your experience with a reliable brand, especially for long runs and multi-source connectivity.

I just upgraded all my HDMI cables. I was curious about these but didn't have enough information or reliable sources of review. If I would have known this I would have went this route for sure. Getting this information out there is definitely valuable and I'm sure it will help many others.

I need to get up in my attic and run in-ceiling speaker wires for Atmos and cut the circles. I presently have SVS wall Atmos. When you get to my age crawling around in the attic and pulling wires isn't as easy as it use to be!😢🧑🏾‍🦲

Optical is a good choice for many. Sadly i eould need a cat6 version. Limi5 of 4k60hz is too little. If there only were double cable.. heck even quad cable could be considered. Couple of cables would be eady installs but opticals with non removable connectors is bit more difficult.

Good video. We have similar setups. I have my gaming PC installed in an office nook in my master bedroom and my receiver and network equipment on a chrome wire shelving unit with casters on it that I got from Costco. I figured an open rack would make it easier to manage cabling, allow for easy adds/moves/changes and allow for easy ventillation. However, I found that I have to spend much more time dressing cables to make them look good on the rack. For my ceiling penetrations at the rack location, I have drywall access panels that I cut super clean holes into with a hole saw and filed down the burs which made the holes look like they were factory cut, then bundled the wire into a single group and ran them through the hole. Super easy to work on, no screws, the faceplate is nice and strong and can be easily removed when I make changes. In my ceiling, I installed 3" d-rings on the trusses in the ceiling which allowed me to keep my wiring super clean as they run across the house. For the wiring in your storage room, maybe install raceway for air conditioning like they install on the exterior of your home for split unit installs? Your rack is so nice, a shame to see the wiring routed along the wall like that. There are raceways you can install right around the cabling without having to repull anything. Maybe you can glue some felt or similar type of fabric to the cavity behind your TV. Or at a minimum use paint that has no sheen to it. Flat black. I'm not big on LED's but I think that would soften the light from them behind your TV. If you have a chance to open the wall up again, put a smurf conduit in to simplify the wire run to the TV. Again great video. Thank you for sharing. Oh, and thanks for the feedback on the cable!

Yeah, maybe someday I'll do something to dress up the wiring coming down behind the rack. :)

Great video as usual. Just wondering your thoughts on the CL2 in-wall rating that some HDMI cables have. Your new cables are certified for data but not in-wall rated. Any concerns with that? I find that it is difficult to find LONG-run (30ft+) 48Gbps HDMI that are BOTH certified and CL2 rated. You would think that manufacturers would figure that long run cables are typically going into walls, and most people do not have conduits set up to negate the need for the CL2 rating. Still, it seems like an “either-or” thing when it comes to long- run certified or long-run wall-rated. Thanks!

Get an optical usb cable and have a Bluetooth dongle on it for your controllers, or maybe a thunderbolt dock

I'm using a high gain Bluetooth antenna on the motherboard, which has been working quite well.
