Sean: As a long time LR/PS user I’ve always printed from PS since I have more control. This panel is really great. The workflow meshes very well with my workflow and makes things much more efficient. I sent a note to Tony thanking both you and Tony. I know it will be an integral part of my printing workflow from now on. Great stuff.

Your free video series about using the TK Print Plugin is comprehensive, clear, and exceptionally valuable. What a joy to have soft proofing easier, more efficient and much effective than before. Establishing a consistent framework and using the panel functions coverts print preparation into an understandable process that I can actually enjoy instead of dread. Anyone using Photoshop should get the panel and your videos without hesitation.

Thanks for this Sean ,and Tony of course. I don't use Lightroom and have only returned to PS in the last year or so due to Capture One's dubious practices and exorbitant recent pricing. As I use an Epson printer I was using Epson Print Layout although recently have switched to Roy Harrington's Print-Tool which I really like. The only reason I have stayed with PS is because of TK8/9 so I will certainly give this a try.

Thanks. I have always printed out of PS. Much better control and soft proofing. I also adjust black and points to match what the printer media can handle. I sold my printer a few years back and will be the Epson P900 in a couple of months or so. I use to print a fair bit and do miss it. I have at least 80 images tagged to be printed. So, I have my work cut-out for me.

As a Ps user only, I really appreciate the opportunity to utilize Ps for printing. I have paid for the expensive RIP software, which is only available for my 11yo printer... requiring me to copy the Ps prepared print file unto an old laptop to print through, as the RIP software is too expensive for me to update and only works on a Mac with OS 9. The RIP software still works perfectly, yet I would like to update the EPSON 3880 printer, which is getting more difficult to keep running. Thanks for being so generous with this! I am looking forward to using my current computer, and if it works well, then upgrade my printer.

Yes, absolutely. As long as you can create a Ps action to open the Nik filter from Ps. I show how to create such an action in the free videos.

Sean, this looks great. Thanks to you and Tony. Question- will the tool help prevent double profiling?
@SeanBagshaw5 ай бұрын
The only way is to make sure you have color management turned off in the printer driver and let Ps manage the colors. There isn't a way to change the printer driver settings from a Ps plugin unfortunately, so you'll have to double check that on your own.

First, I’d like to thank Tony and for coming up with print plug-in and for taking the time to educate us on how to use it. I do have one quick question. In the print video, when you go to print settings, you have standard highlighted instead of photo printing. Personally I always use photo printing. Is using standard OK in lieu of photo printing?
@SeanBagshaw4 ай бұрын
I probably just missed that setting when recording. I'd use the photo setting.

I have the print course and I'm sure this will help me with my printing.

It should. I think you will find that the plugin mirrors/speeds up the Ps printing workflow from the course quite well.

Sean, does the "Too Dark?" bright the image without blowing out the highlights or does it simply brighten the entire image? Looks like it was adjusting the image about 1/3 or maybe 2/3 of a stop?
@SeanBagshaw5 ай бұрын
It lightens the dark tones using the Screen blend mode and a darks luminosity mask so that the light tones in the image are not affected.

As an amateur photographer, I've always used Photoshop Elements. I use Elements to print for myself, family and friends with Hahnemuhle fine art, rag and canvas papers. Will the plug in work with Elements?
@SeanBagshaw5 ай бұрын
I don't think Photoshop plugins work with Ps Elements. I think elements does support plugins, but I don't think they can crossover with plugins for Photoshop. Tony Kuyper would know for sure. You can contact him through his website if you want to: goodlight.us/contact.html
@winstonvanhughes946520 күн бұрын
Hi. Thanks for that. Wondered if the plugin also has indications on formats, tiiff, jpg, if we shoyld print in RGB o CMYK?? THANKS
@SeanBagshaw13 күн бұрын
The plugin doesn't advise on that. Print from 16 bit tif if you can. Unless you are printing on an offset printer (such as book publishing) then use an RGB color space (sRGB, Adobe RGB, ProPhoto RGB etc.).
@draughonc5 ай бұрын
Sean, this is really nice. A TK panel that's not overly busy with icons, a simple workflow, and free. Awesome! Still, using that black point compensation default, though?
@SeanBagshaw5 ай бұрын
Yes. I've done my own testing and, for me anyway, the auto black point compensation seems to do as good a job as I can do manually with curves. I will do additional black point compensation using the plugin in certain images with a lot of dark detail.
@wernerwoska88255 ай бұрын
Sean, is it useful and do you recommend the plug in for prints from a lab?

hang on you have a canon printer behind you canon has a great plugin for printing....
@SeanBagshaw5 ай бұрын
If you mean Print Studio Pro, I agree that it is great for setting up print jobs...very similar to both Ps and Lr. However, I don't think it has a good way to make soft-proof adjustments, size and sharpen print files, add digital signatures, adjust for gloss differential and do manual black point compensation.
