@@jojolords4523 But Boling has shown no interest in pursuing the LJ which is arguably his best chance at ever making an individual US Team so the OP's point about the DEC doesn't really make much sense when applied to Boling! It does mean that HEP/DECathletes in '26 will have to focus on their strongest event if they plan on competing at these new Champs in Budapest '26 e.g. ppl like Nafi Thiam or KJT will have to focus on either the HJ or LJ.

With no 3K SC & 10K, at least some of those Athletes can still compete in the 5K event whereas there's no M&W's Shot Put & Discus, no Women's Hammer & Men's TJ meaning so many Field Athletes e.g. reigning World & Olympic Hammer Champ Camryn Rogers who's already shut out of both lucrative DL & GST competitions will also now miss out on a potential Gold Medal & $150K payday in Budapest '26! Cynical that Men's Hammer was included (but not Women's) as Hungary's sole Global Medallist in recent yrs has been Male Hammer Thrower Bence Halász!

World Athletics is missing the mark by not including those key field events. If you would like to shake things up simply have the world championships every non Olympic year and add the 4x200 relay along with the big man relay. Making it the World Ultimate Championships is not fancy but quite pathetic. When you have athletes competing for multiple Global titles in a year (Olympic +Diamond league/Grand Slam Track) or (World+Diamond/Grand Slam) adds many story lines and intriguing POV's.

No shot put, No discus, No women's hammer throw and No Men's Triple Jump. This right here is insane. These events are very entertaining and have provided us some great performances recently with the new WRs, ARs and competitive match ups. As a shot put thrower myself and someone trying to get into the elite ranks, I'm very disappointed that my event for the moment is excluded and almost every important track event is left untouched. Track and Field has a problem, a Field problem and with this World Ultimate Championships, The Grand Slam Track, the Athlos event, Sprint and other projects catering to the track, I don't know how field eventers collectively are ever going to get their money's worth and the recognition they deserve.

The throwing events aren't athletic events anyway. Men's triple jump is the only event that should've been included other than the 10k.

It is insane to have so much money and not have the 3k or 10k, I guess they could argue the 10k is boring to watch for the avarage person but what about the 3k???

Fans of the 10 000m already knew this wouldn't be included because it's been squeezed out of other meets, but I'd love to know the rationale behind excluding the SC. It's not a long event and it's normally always exciting to watch so I don't understand why it didn't make the cut. Really though the field eventers (and I'm including multi eventers in this) really need an explanation from WA. WTF was the logic behind the events selected and those omitted? I thought they were all for gender equity so that hammer throwing decision is bizarre to say the least.

I think a lot of it has to do with TV. 10K takes a long time, combined and field events in general are hard for the audience to absorb. They can put an electronic line in the sand so morons can understand jumps. Verticals have a bar. It's harder to see where the discus bounced or even the shot. Some of that money has to be coming from TV.

They should get rid of hammer throw and replace it for Shot Put sane with triple Jump for Discus there’s to many jumping events and literally no throwing

Прыжки без изменений( хотя я бы исключил шест и тройной, но вся проблема что они популярны у зрителей) метания : ядро и диск. Это один вид Гран- При, второй десятиборье, эстафеты и длинные метания. Шоссе: 1 миля, 5 км , 10км, хальф и марафон

This is proof people will complain about anything. People are really making a fuss over a $10mil prize pool just because some events aren't included. This is better than nothing 🤷‍♂️
