The Slaws enjoy a pub stopover in their Hobby motorhome with Billy and Jessie, their Lhasa Apso dogs.
The Victoria Inn in Hornsea on the East Coast of Yorkshire is a great motorhome stopover. Free to stay if you eat in the pub. Flat parking, access to toilets in opening hours and less than a mile to the sea front.
Hornsea is a pretty little seaside town, but with a lively nightlife!
Off grid cooking with the EcoFlow powerstation.
It's all a bit much for Slaw and he makes a big decision!

You will have passed near our little town on way from Drax to Hornsea. More importantly you need to retire. Nothing for ever, you can always go back to some sort of work after a while. Get it done and come south next winter. You’re here for a good time not a long time as my old drummer used to say.

Another Great vblog Slaws, love the drone shots. I did shift work for 37 years and coming up to retirement age (60) i could have done a few more years. Of course, you wonder about coping with money etc but it was the best decision. Go for it if you can. XX

Another great Slaw VLOG and another pub to add to the list of visits, yet to be made! Don’t retire too soon or else you will be unable to afford the longer trips that retirement allows you to complete. I make that comment on day 69 of my current wandering (naked) around France, Portugal, Spain and Andorra. A great get away and wonderful weather; 15kms west of Barcelona and the temperature this afternoon was 22.5C. I have had one day of rain since 1 December, roll on May when I head for Munich and another 3 months swanning around Europe!

Cracking video👍 what a beautiful town and beach. Listening to Slaw singing in the club was wonderful....lovely voice. Jessie and Billy looked adorable in their coats, but they nearly jumped out of their skins when the crumpets popped up😂 me and my husband have retired early....do it, you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner. Hi Mr & Mrs Slaw, thank you for sharing all these great videos over the years. They really are very enjoyable and an inspiration. Based in France, we have decided to travel to the UK this summer. The plan is to rent a van (first time ever) and travel to the UK via Santander/Plymouth. From Plymouth we intend to travel the length of England and into Scotland. Are there any good tips you can pass on to us concerning club memberships or associations that would allow us cheaper stays on UK campsites ? Any other worthwhile tips for first-time vanners travelling in the UK ?

We stayed at Victoria just before new years eve a last minute decision never been to Hornsea before we loved it . Tried most of the pubs found them all welcoming and best of all dog friendly.

Hi Jessie & Jim, we have the EcoFlow River Pro (an original one. It will be 2 years old this time) We use it mainly for powering the MacBook Pro and phones. Also, Mrs Slaw’s hairdryer and straighteners and the toaster 🤣

Hi Alan, there is no requirement to tell DVLA if you have had a coronary angioplasty. Slaw just couldn’t drive for a week after the operation 👍🏻
