Man, that's some nice looking dirt you're working with there. When you were talking about working efficiently and speeding things up, it made me think about the guy that got me started in excavation. He mentioned the same things you did and also about setting up the worksite and how to load the truck quickly. He always preached to try to keep your swing at 90 degrees or less when loading the truck to shorten load times. He also taught me to spread my loads out when dumping them so I didn't have to spend so much time on the loader pushing piles to get my lifts ready for compaction. He was a smart guy and knew the excavation business. Now that I'm older, I really appreciate him sharing his knowledge with me and helping me to understand the business like you do for your viewers. Great job Mr. Sam. Nice message too.
@tristardiggin
@tristardiggin 5 ай бұрын
Yup, those are all good ways to be efficient. I need to do as you mentioned and spread it as I’m dumping. That would make things a touch quicker too. It is cool that you had someone show you the ropes too.

I really enjoyed this video. The last time I saw your big dig borrow pit, it was about a quarter of that size. Glad I stopped by so I could recall the changes you made. By the way, are you going to put up an hysterical historical sign down in the bottom grassy strip between the Hickory Ridge Road and the neighbor's driveway that says "Ol' What-his-name parked here". Great message. I'm sure you've heard the old adage: "You want to make God smile? Tell Him you've got a plan..."

Never trust a future cast 😂! I got to play in the 313 this afternoon! It’s pretty great. I’ve been using minis so much lately that it feels strange again. I think they have the settings turned down in this one. I didn’t mess with the settings any. Had to pull a big stump that was growing out of solid rock and I dug a few perk test holes. Really wish we had a dozer on this job. To be honest I’d like to have a dozer on every job no matter what it is. You’re doing an awesome job man! Keep up the great work! Love your vids.

Hey Robert, God Bless you as well. The Lord was definitely watching out for me too. But like you, I don’t miss it and thankful for the men and women who are taking care of business out there. Sam

As a business owner, that does dirt work, you make hay while the sun shines. No reason to quit early or take weekends off. You have time to sit? You have time to work. Being your own boss sounds fun, till you realize you don't have off days. Quitting early on a Friday and taking next week, just doesn't make sense. If they are canning for rain, i get it, but if it's a dry weekend, than you work it
