A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT in Puerto Pollensa, Mallorca

It’s a sad end to the season and a big disappointment in Puerto Pollensa, Mallorca as I take a walk through the resort to show you what the resort is like at the end of October.
I start my walk at the far end of Tamarells Beach on the Llenaire side of Puerto Pollensa, before taking a walk to the centre and heading to Puerto Pollensa market.
Find out if the market is still on in the winter months, and get an idea of what it’s like.
We then head onto the Pine Walk in Port de Pollenca, and along the coves which make up Albercuix beach.
Find out why this is a sad end to the season in Puerto Pollensa, and it’s not because many of the hotels and businesses are closing.

Haha, you know I had high hopes of getting to Alcudia to film in the same day, but I was pretty tired by the end of making this video! It's always the walk back ! Still, it has to be one of the prettiest walks on the island so I can't complain!

Puerto Pollensa has to be one of the prettiest places on the island. I love coming up here, and always take a little time to just sit and take in the views. It's a world away from Palma and the south west!

I went in September 2023 and the red flag was up at least 5 days in my fortnight stay. This will be my last stay here as was very disappointed with a no action mentality that seems prevalent. Shame after going to PP every year for 25 years. Sad,sad, sad

Hi Alex, can’t believe you were there Wednesday, i was either in the market or on the miramars beach. We had a great week and flew home today. There was a red flag on the beach opposite the hotel Miramar aswell. Lets hope they sort something before next summer. Gutted we missed you.

Hi Alex, as mentioned in another video, this impacted our stay. We were staying this last week Fri-Fri. We had dreamed of a pine walk beach side apartment for years, we adore PDP. But we were only able to actually swim in the sea outside our apartment for the weekend. The red flags were flying Monday afternoon and when we got in the taxi Friday lunchtime they were still flying. So 5 days out of the week. I hope the authorities do something about it. But for us, it's really out us off booking again. Too much risk, not knowing whether they'll be flying or not. I did a bit of research and it seems like a it's occurring more regularly. If you're a family who enjoys the water and swimming, its something you should really consider. Yes you can walk along the resort to another beach, but if you've forked out for a beach side apartment and the water lapping at the wall isn't suitable/safe for swimming, it really puts a downer on the holiday!

This is such a shame and I 100% agree with you and totally understand, which is why as much I support the island, I also champion the holidaymakers who make a considerable investment in the island by booking a holiday here. I will try and get some more information about this.

Hi Alex - some time, next year maybe? Could you please mention the wonderful facilities for disabled people on Tamarells Beach, near Llaut Beach Bar? They are some of the most amazing we have come across. Sand wheelchairs to get you down to the water if you can’t walk, special sand walking sticks and crutches with splayed feet, a shady spot to leave your scooter or chair, or use one of the free sun loungers in the shade. Or, you can pop the loungers right on the sand next to the boardwalk. Mostly manned with people only too willing to help - I think it’s run by the beach authority though I could be wrong there. And of course a short wheel away from the fabulous beach bar, aperol spritz anyone? Seriously though, this facility alone makes it worth coming to Puerto Pollensa and deserves a mention, maybe interviews with the staff next year? x

We stayed in Uyal staff absolutely wonderful we stayed bed breakfast evening meals food was awful we had to eat out but spotless hotel couldn’t do enough for us

Dissapointed. - thought I was going to see my first great white, swimming between the red flags. 🤩 as there are no lifeguards in winter, can you still swim on the beach,?

Puerto pollenca has always had a sewage problem.They used to have open sewerers in to the sea.Give the locals a break they love to see the back of the holiday makers for a least the winter months.the tourists have ruined the port.
