I would suggest that neither is better or worse, but different. As in folks and spoons. If you like folks you don't throw out spoons, and surely you wouldn't toss your folks out because of a lucky soup spoon. I would rate my time well spent watching Hogan's Heroes, Get Smart Barney Miller as well as Monty Python's flying circus, Yes Minister/Prime Minister and the Young Ones. I think there is room in this world for both.

I do like Ben Elton, and Upstart Crow is very funny, but sometimes he's about as subtle as a smack in the mouth (with a brick).
