I'm not sure but I think that the hospital scene from Spider-Man 2 is one of these. Appears Out of Nowhere - Nowhere in the film before this scene was it in anyway foreshadowed, unless Otto being put into an ambulance counts. Strange in Context - It's a gruesome horror scene in the middle of a light-hearted superhero movie clearly made to be accessible to kids. Never Goes Anywhere: This scene has basically no weight on the plot and is never mentioned again. This is likely because, IIRC, the scene was originally test footage to show off what the tentacle puppets could do, and it was so good they threw it into the main picture.
