Glad you got that dangerous foam out of the way and are still managing to carry on with a variety of renovation projects bit by bit, avoiding getting too worked up about them, which is the wisest way to approach things. Not all babies struggle to sleep or are super fussy. Some are great at self soothing very early on. I was a lucky mum to have a son that slept well, even during our home renovations. He was not fussy and was easy to manage. Plus i had a hands on husband who would do every 2nd night feeds. Giving me a chance to rest.

Ohhh, that fire is just gorgeous. There's nothing better than a woodburning stove heating the whole house and making those little comforting crackling, whooshing and pinging noises as the metal expands. I wish you all many contented evenings through the winter sitting round it.

The mirror is gorgeous, and Mauros T Shirt is hilarious. Yes the days go so so fast. I'm an oil painter ,i do landscapes when i can, but i use baby oil to clean my brushes. The farm looks wonderful and the olive trees are gorgeous, and walking with babes,is even more beautiful. ❤

You might consider putting a container of water on top of your wood stove to add moisture into the air - the added moisture is good for you, and also makes the air feel warmer using less wood in the process‼️❤️

The few times we've lit it so far, we've been boiling water on top of it just because we can! And yes, the wood stove dries the air a lot, we notice it, so having the added humidity is good :)

If you haven't already done so, take a moment to marvel at how much you've accomplished over the last year. As the mother of a preemie myself (now 16 and amazing), I know how exhausting this past year has been for you. But the end result? A beautiful, healthy baby boy, what appears to be Santiago's 50th size percentiles (an enormous accomplishment!), pushing through an incredibly emotional trial and a huge leap forward in your nest renovations. Congratulations. Take a bow. Then a family nap.

Today on Gardener's Question Time - a radio program on bbc radio four/ BBC sounds - today 22nd October '23, there is a whole section on growing tropical fruit trees and shrubs that can be grown in Cornwall - kiwi berries, amongst other things. Also a section about growing different beans and other things to get more calories out of a vegetable garden.

Having parental leave is indeed a privilege, but also more: it's a necessity that is denied to so many, including here in the US.

In Europe Scandinavian and Baltic countries it is usually full pay for a year, other countries it various what's sad is that the USA is the only industrialised county in the world that doesn't have paid maternity/paternity leave. Only a handful countries out of 200 don't have maternity pay.USA doesn't look after its own citizens very well not even an annual month holiday pay!

I’m so happy to hear that everything is going smoothly with Santi home. I really like how the shelves turned out. Looks like a live edge and is wonderfully rustic looking. That fire in the stove did indeed look very cozy.
