If you say it's a possible 9.8 you NEED to post several HD clear pictures, It's a huge $400 gamble from 9.8 to 9.6

Anyone who claims that a book is NM or a high grade should always provide lots of photos of the book WITHOUT the bag and board. Anyone who doesn’t isn’t someone I would ever buy from. I feel there is deception here or at a minimum, a lack of transparency (which feels intentional).

When I post grade numbers its for a graded book. I always post a caveat that it's my estimated grade in a range (VF/NM-) because even with CGC not every grader grades the same. I also list obvious visible defects and paper quality. I bought second appearance SA book off of Hip***** from a well known reputable seller, they claimed a 4.0, and when graded from CGC came back as a 2.5. I didn't lose on the deal and ended up making about 40-50 after grading but still, be honest with your buyers. Good will is priceless.

If I was going to sell raw comics I’d use the methodology that reliable comic stores use like A-One Comics. They intentionally grade their comics a grade or two lower than it actually is, that way there’s less possibility of dispute down the road.

Hi, Chris. I run into this same situation all the time when buying my Star Wars comics. The seller's don't have enough good quality photos and/or they don't expand on their claimed condition in the title, in the description.

Maybe I'm chicken-shit, but if a seller makes the claim that a raw book is a CGC 9.8 in waiting, but posts only one blurry pic, I'm running the other way. He's learned enough to know about CGC, yet not smart enough to know that he needs to post more pics. Certainly people can make mistakes. Maybe he's a first-time seller and thinks he's telling buyers what they want want to hear. But as he learned really quick, buyers are also savvy and they jumped all over his red flags. Hopefully he took some of the snarky comments and used it as a learning opportunity. But it seems like by turning off comments, he wants to do things his way, and hopefully find a sucker.

You're right as usual. Bad pictures increase risk so lower the value to buyers. He could get about $100 for it with the bad picture if it passes for a 9.0 in reality. $220 is a dream. Usually when people are adamant some book is a 9.8 or better then you can be pretty sure it's a solid 9.0, 8.5 at worst. Take good pictures, price it at 180 and give someone a deal for 160, else take the 100 and be happy.

I cannot...absolutely CANNOT stand sellers, dealers, and people who price books at a grade the book has not earned. It pisses me off, and is an instant "never buy from this person" judgement. You say the book is 9.8, get it effing graded, then sell it as an advertised 9.8....or any other damned grade.

Completely agree. Multiple pics every angle out of the bag I also include one in the bag and never say anything, but the non graded scale unless the book is graded. Personally I would love to see something like GPA to actually have separate pricing for all the grading companies prices.

I’m kinda in shock he didn’t get brutally ripped in the comments. Shows the community is is getting kinder through social media. Apparently someone had a live sale on Instagram and scammed a bunch of people. Chat on whatnot was talking about it said there was a KZbin video on it. I sure as hell hope it’s not true I love live sales. Ya get great deals usually cause there’s no insane whatnot or eBay fees. If I find it I’ll share it and some jerk always has to destroy a good thing.

I buy a lot of comic books off Ebay. I'll ask for better pics, ,will not buy, gamble, if I don't get the pics. A book like Wolverine Mini 1 should have front/back/side spine pic/all corner pics. Pro-Tip: I will check books on the Ebay phone app with a magnifying glass as I find that to be better than my 32" hi res screen.. Doing that saves a whole lotta drama! DO NOT buy based on hope that the book will be as advertised! Historic side note: I bought 200 copies of Wol 1 mini at 40 cents each in 1982. I sold the last 50 copies ten years later for $7 each. Great profit!!

I couldn’t even watch 10 minutes of this video. Love your channel but this was a waste of time for me personally, not a bad video but a real non-topic kinda irrelevant 16+ minute video that’s dry and I’m not sure why this wasn’t a 5 minute video that didn’t ramble. Hope your next video has better production value and hopefully next time the content remains interesting throughout. This channel just isn’t informative or entertaining enough to keep me coming back regularly. I think it was in one of your livestreams where you were talking about video view counts and the algorithm, sure that’s part of your problem but over the past few months your videos have felt like reruns of a show I sorta liked back in the day, maybe your viewers need you to break your mould and reinvent your channel or renovate things and they’ll come back and so will the views. No hate or disrespect just my honest feedback and criticism. Will check out your next video. I’m going to see if I missed one of your livestreams since I watched the last one, love your energy in those and always watch start to finish.

I appreciate your honesty. At first, I wanted to be a bit snark and say, you thought the video was too long, but then you left an essay of a comment. But in all honesty, your honest criticism are appreciated. One honest thing? Putting extra effort into my videos anymore in terms of production at least, just isn't worth it because of the algorithms. But the interesting thing is that my click-through rate on this video is currently over 10%, which is double the average for successful channels. What does that mean? 10% of people who see my thumbnail are clicking on it and watching. That stat is a successful one. KZbin is strange. I'm trying to find ways to reinvent, and honesty, but respectful feedback like this is very helpful, and I truly appreciate it.
