What a day for lake trout. Ivo for those of us who fish from the shore, and who are little further from Niagara. More precisely from Toronto. You know the Niagara River well, what kind of weather should we look at before we go, winds, cloudy, clear, etc. What would you recommend from your experience. Ty

in the river is generally always safe, but at the mouth (Niagara on the Lake) if there is a north wind, it is nasty, but a south wind is ideal...even a southwest wind is ok as well. West wind or East winds under 8K are o.k. as well. Generally speaking, cloudy or sunny are both o.k. for this area and the morning bite is best, up to early afternoon :)

How do you know that it’s trout that will be in this specific area ?

There is good structure there and a concentration of bait fish which attract the trout :)

Nice fish Evo. Please be better prepared to remove hooks and PLEASE get em back in the water FASTER. They're HOLDING THEIR BREATH when you have em outa the water! Great video despite the chilly weather!
