I like dark academia, gothic horror, and thrillers. But I just don’t get paranormal romance. Is humanity that screwed up that people desire romance with demons, ghosts, vampires, etc? It’s not even escapism. There is nothing romantic about pure evil. This is why I can’t understand this sub-genre. But I am happy if it gets more people to read books. Reading is very important to our brains.

Everyone likes different things I guess and we are all very complex beings so we won’t always understand things we can’t fathom enjoying ourselves but I don’t see harm in it and I personally enjoy paranormal/supernatural romance as it’s not real it’s just fantasy and a bit fun! But you’re right it’s good that it gets people reading books!

Paranormal books are my bread and butter and love the, urban fantasy, and epic fantasy. I'm a paramedic by profession and need fun in my life while reading. would wonder why you read what you read? Nope. You do you.
