I also wanna add to the language learning tips! 1) With the vocabulary list, after writing down the new word and its meanings, use the word in a sentence. Remember, the whole sentence must be in your target language. This way you can strengthen your knowledge on how to use the word and it actually makes it a lot easier to remember (depending on how many times you used it in a sentence. 2) During the familiarizing phase, it's a lot better to watch something first before reading something. It's a lot more efficient when you see and hear the language you want to learn about instead of just seeing it. This also help you be more aware of the intonations to use so even when you come across an unfamiliar word you would intuitively know how it would sound like (it might not be necessarily accurate but it's good enough; you would also feel more confident about yourself when you guessed right on how to speak that word ^^ at least that's how it is to me :P) 3) Visualizing is your friend. While visualizing tho, try to make your inside voice speak in your target language.

My biggest tip is to constantly describe the things around you in your desired language. It's really good at helping you phrase things on the go- and it immediately highlights gaps in your vocabulary, as well as identifying which words are relevant in an everyday context, as opposed to vague, ethereal language in your textbook that's less relevant to your daily reality 💕💕💕

This video is great! I never really considered the upkeep/maintenance as part of learning a language but it's so important. It's why so many people grew up speaking something and eventually forgot. They didn't maintain it! So cool to know. I'm an English speaker, trying to learn Spanish and ASL(I'd love to learn more, but my sights are low). But I have social anxiety and audio-processing disorder. So I have a hard time communicating with people in my native language either because I forget what I wanna say, panic and freeze up, or just get so overwhelmed no one understands what I'm trying to say. Then sometimes I just can't hear what people are saying. My family calls it "creative hearing" because I never quite understand, and tend to hear something they didn't say+fill in the blanks. It's like it takes my brain twice as long to register what other people hear with ease. These make the task of learning a language seem daunting and impossible... I would *love* to know Spanish and many other languages, but... It seems so anti-climactic. Do you have any thoughts on this?? (Didn't mean to write so much, I just really enjoyed your video. It gave me a lot to think about!)

My biggest tips are watching DISNEY live-action movies in whatever language you’re learning and put the subtitles in whatever language you are learning. Again, do this with LIVE-ACTION DISNEY MOVIES! Specifically PRINCESS ONES. They make such large obvious gestures that make it incredibly easy to understand. While learning french I often went to this little french café and spoke in french and talked to the french owner about how i was trying to learn french. Doing simple conversation is a good way to get experience on talking with actual people in that language. Also, while i was learning spanish again I shopped at ZARA a ton just to speak to the employees there in spanish. They literally all speak spanish. Have fun learning your language!

I'm Arabic , and I always try to learn languages , I can talk arabic fluently and that's normal because I live in arabic country , but learning english is my desire for a long time , I have a lot of vocabs but when I speak I faced problems like i forget the vocabs or being afraid and became nervous quickly ! i'll always try to learn and that's can't stop me but the real problem is I don't have anyone to practice with him english and that's make me a little bad and afraid when I speak .

As my experience, communicating with people that speaks the language/dialect you're trying to learn is very effective!(when I lived in a province and communicated with people who speaks a dialect, it's like my mind starts to get into the dialect and connect to my native language somehow)

Living in a household with english speakers made things easier for me to adapt too. It's somehow a habit me and my siblings picked up to speak in english (tho both parents aren't any fluent, and we're living in a country with barely anyone speaking english at all). So now that i am pretty much fluent in Indonesian, English and Javanese (my mother tongue), it's actually easier to adapt with unfamiliar grammar. Like for example, i am currently learning korean and i found it highkey different than IDN & ENG's grammar, but it was easier to understand how the grammar works than how it was when i started learning english the very first time- for short, it's like a headstart, lol. Thank you for the tips, despite what i've stated, i am super lost on how to continue learning Korean :') I've only been depending on language learning apps (Duolingo, Cake, Papago) and watching korean contents (K-pop, variety shows, k-youtubers etc.)

Yayy another video!~ 😊😊😊 EDIT : Quite an interesting video, I liked the part about maintaining languages we already are comfortable with the most.
I'm currently learning Indonesian, as my bf is originally from there, and we're going there this summer, I'm to meet his parents 👀. They can speak a little English, but I know they don't feel too confident in it. I want to be able to communicate with them without them feeling uncomfortable having to speak in a foreign language. Thanks for your tips!! I'm sure they will work well for me ❤️☁️

@miikaduki Жыл бұрын
@@luffyyy9888 it’s going pretty well!! Thanks for asking. I’m able to introduce myself and ask for people’s name and age comfortably. I can ask them what languages they speak, different kinds of foods they like or don’t. I can count to 20 from the top of my head and I know most used colors. I can talk about the weather, time or ask for directions if necessary. I’m talking slowly and my pronunciation still needs some work, but my bf is very proud of me for working so hard and it’s actually been very fun to learn!! Are you learning any language right now?

Languages I'm most comfortable with: 1. English (most used daily) 2. Korean (mostly used at home and learning how to fluently read) 3. Spanish (medicore at best) Languages I want to learn: 1. Russian (started learning the alphabet) 2. Mandarin Chinese (seems useful to learn) 3. Latin (I heard you can take classes in high school and that it helps for understanding with English)

It's really interesting for me how others learn languages, cause after summer break I'm going to learn my 4th language. I first learnt German and live in Germany till yet, then I started to learn English in the 5th grade and Latin in the 6th grade. Next year I'm going to learn French and in 11th grade I'm going to learn Spanish or Italian. But I'm not sure, cause if I want to learn Spanish I must go to another school. And lol I already started to learn Spanish on Duolingo, French also. So maybe it isn't necessary to learn it again at school, but maybe I would have good grades then. Haha 😂

Understanding other languages, especially English has been challenging for me. However, with the help of useful extensions like Immersive Translate and DeepL, I've been able to overcome the language barrier. Moving forward, I'm committed to putting in my best effort to learn the language and not just relying on tools.
