As a vet with many years experience Yvonne, if Riseys wobbler gets no worse than now and we have seen actual improvement over the weeks, I would be very happy to suggest that this may not be degeneratve at all. He may have slight weskness that may remain but he is not stumbling, falling, is able to get up from lying down. These are all things that are very promising. Especially when we are talking about a beloved member of the family. Not everything is a business decision. He clearly has no pain and the improvement is obvious. You are a great caretaker of your animal family Yvonne. Please give yourself the credit you deserve. I have a lot of confidence that Riseys improvement will be ongoing. Much love from New Zealand.💕💙

Dr. Raylene, thank you for your post. You, as a Vet, noticing Risey's improvements and making your comments of encouragement are very significant. With the previous video, at the end, it was obvious to me of Risey's improvements in walking and running. He seems happy and is not in pain so it would be worthwhile to let him live his life.

Vets are usually very pragmatic people lol. If a breeder had a horse with wobbler, especially if the symptoms were quite severe, the right advice is uthenasia. As Yvonne herself said, if it was a human, you can tell them what they can and can't do. Not so in the animal world unfortunately. But Risey has very definitely improved. His trot and canter were quite smooth, not perfect, but much better, especially the transition from one to the other. Time is certainly our friend in these circumstances. A young strong horse that is still growing we can be quietly confident about the chances or continued improvement. Gelding Risey and restricting interactions with other energetic youngsters is proving to be a very good decision. All my fingers are crossed for Risey. A special guy xox

I'm delighted to hear your response to the improvement in Risey, so often nowadays, people don't give them any time to heal naturally. It's very hard to follow your own instincts with a lot of negative pressure. Time may or may not work out, but if it's not given, you're always left wondering.

I hope I'm wrong but I have strong suspicions that it is asbestos. And if it is asbestos it is very dangerous because over time it tends to crumble, releasing microscopic fibers into the air which, if inhaled, can be very harmful to human health and also to the health of horses. I don't often comment, but I always watch and click 'like" every time. Today seeing Risey looking so content and relaxed with Yvonne helped cheer me up after a stressful time with my dear wife last night, who is now in hospital. I have always loved horses and in fact animals in general and becoming a part of this herd has helped to relax me in difficult times. I love Odas Coat..in case of rain it keeps your legs and the saddle dry…good choice👍👍👍Nice to see Risey sleeping well and eating good…not always the case with wobbler, in a really bad cases they don’t get down anymore…I think it’s a good sign…❤

Yes, in spite of the vets' pessimisms, Risey is still able to get up. Yvonne even indicated in yesterday's video that he is a bit better. Who knows how far he will go? He looks pretty happy now, and I hope that can continue.

Thank you for saying this. We had a yrakehner wobbler. Big guy. He lived for 22 years. He was on pasture and man could he gallop. Like Risey he got bad and then stabilized. Once he stopped growing he was good. You couldn’t ride him safely. He had a good life and he enhanced our life. Every morning he said hi and he loved affection. Yvonne don’t let people get to you. I was the told the same thing. I heard it too but then I called two specialists and one said she had a wobbler. She was a vet. Risey looks ok to me and I have looked at my wobbler for 22 years so I know. He looks ok. Unless it gets worse I would give him time. I think he may be like mine and not get worse. Good luck. My heart goes out to you. I remember how hard it was initially. He is a special horse. 🐴

Dear Yvonne, how lovely to start your busy day with Risey sleeping in his stall, and he doesn't even try to get up when you are in his stall... he trusts and loves you so much. You have the most beautiful forrest trails in Friesland, I love seeing your treks with your friends. It's lovely seeing the young girls looking after the horses and ponies. I wrote this info on another video but I must keep repeating it to be sure you have the information. My sister in law while pregnant took too much calcium, and her baby was born with the same problem. His facial nerves were severely affected and his limbs. She quickly found a specialist in Chicago who diagnosed the baby with too much calcium, closing off the pathways of the nerves in the spine. The baby was given massive doses of vitamin K2, 100,000 units a day, by I.V. The baby was in the hospital a few months and had a complete recovery. He is 40 years old now and had a professional baseball career. I hope this helps.
