Liter bikes are awesome on the street. It always feels great to be able to look left and right and back and know you're faster than everything else.

The main reason to get it is the power in low revs, you don't need to rev it like a madman to go fast, unlike the 600 :)

Hopefully one day I'll get to feel that. I'm thinking of starting out on a Ninja 400 to get good before getting a liter bike.
@fritchard476
@fritchard476 5 жыл бұрын
@@nickferdinande1646 I am getting a ninja 650... If you haven't done your research look them up... They sit like a sport touring bike (upright, not hunched over) so very comfortable for long rides. The power is about 40 less than a zx6r, but weight is similar. It looks like any other ninja so it is a head turner. And if you want, you can buy sport bars to lower the handle bars and give that more agressive sport bike look. You won't ever grow out of it like a 400, but you won't be scared of it either.

@@fritchard476 my first bike was the o6 ninja 650 it was the first year they came out it was a cool bike but it started to feel slow pretty quick and being Super new when i got it there was no aftermarket parts. Ended up blowing the motor up doing long wheelies
@fritchard476
@fritchard476 4 жыл бұрын
@@206beastman yeah probably wasn't a lot of information out back then, but now I knew before I even got the bike that when the front wheel is up the engine starves itself of oil. It's pretty common knowledge now, probably not back then, lol. Bike has been good to me, bit it's 10 years old and shows everybit of it. But it's comfortable 45 minutes back and forth to college. And I can have so much fun on the highways. I can still go from 60-110 in the snap of a finger.

The GSX-R 1000 is a great bike, one of the nicest most fun liter sport bikes I've ridden. I liked it so much I bought and owned a 2016 GXS-S 1000 S for a couple of years, which was powered by an updated version of the old K5 Gixxer 1000 engine. I know, the GXS-S isn't a GSX-R, but it was every bit as thrilling to ride and much easier on the neck and shoulders, best described as a sport bike for old guys.. However, for my money if you want serious bang for your buck on a used right out of the box liter(+) bike my pick would be the BMW K1200S. Less horsepower than the Gixxer 1000, 167 (BMW) vice 182.5 (GSX-R), but the BMW with a wet weight nearly 100 lbs heavier is every bit as quick and infinitely more comfortable. The K1200S 0-60 time is 2.8 sec, 1/4 mile time 10.4 sec. I have a special fondness for Suzuki. My first bike was a Suzuki, and I've owned several more over the years. But for ridiculous speed, comfort and amazing stability at high speeds the BMW was the winner for me. I've nothing against the Gixxer, this is just my opinion, to each their own, ride whatever puts a smile on your face and makes you happy. Like the old saying goes, "It's not what you ride, it's that you ride".

I've said it for many years and it's still true: a liter bike is the cheapest way to get to 170mph, and it'll hang with anything on 4 wheels to 150, price indifferent. Back in my youth I was a Tl1000 enthusiast, but hung out with a pack of dudes that turbo'ed everything. Their slow bike was ~250hp. I loved wrapping out an NA bike as much as the next guy, but couldn't get my head past 200hp. The idea seemed good however, and being a force induction guy with cars, I'd lend a hand in some mad creations from time to time. Now you look at turbo bikes with 700hp and that seems certifiably insane to me. Still love the idea, but I'd want more rubber and the ability to turn with that much oomph connected to my wrist!

I had never ridden anything in my life. Not even a dirt bike. Decided to go buy a zx6r one day. Rode that 15,000 miles then traded that in for a Z900. Still to this day they are the only two bikes I’ve ever ridden. 😆

In 1978, I passed a crop duster on my Yamaha XS Eleven. He was going about 110, parallel to me on a back country road, low to the ground at about 300 ft. I jumped up to about 125 or 130mph and blew right by him, I held up my fist as I slowed back down to a hundred or so, and he waved his wings big time to me, no one around to see it, just him and me, but I never will forget it, not that it was so fast, but because it was just cool to pass a plane. In the 70's, 135-140mph was really fast and all I could do on that bike, it started to have a high speed wobble at 125mph and up. My eye would water even with a Bell Star, full face helmet on, they were not as sealed up like todays hats are. High speeds are fun, but when you have only two wheels, it makes for twice the excitement. Pro tip: keep ties sealer in your tires at all times to prevent a blow out at high speed, or any speed. The stuff works and it's cheap, it can save your life, or maybe just save you from a flat tire somewhere.

Target fixation, looking at the thing you want to miss but bikes go where you look.... so... Its best to be glass half full, look positive and look where you want to go, not negative and where you don't want to go.. like that armco, pole or road edge, rather look for the apex :-)

Mclaren 720s, 765lt, senna, senna gtr, 570s, 650s, 675lt, 12c. Can all go just as fast or faster. Most of those were made before 2018. The 12c was 2012 and the p1 and 650s were 2015. Pretty much every car except the 720s, 765lt and senna’s were made when the video came out. That’s all I’m saying, but the bike is more bang for your buck by far. There’s still a couple of cars like a few lambos, Porsches, a Ford, the demon, a couple of Mercedes, a few bmw’s, the new corvette and the 2015 z06, the Audi R8, two Bugatti’s, some Tesla’s, the gtr nismo, and the Honda nsx that can do 0-62 in 3 seconds or less. The fastest was the Porsche 918 spyder with an almost sub 2 second time from an independent group. That’s not even taking into account kit cars like an slc which are built differently by everyone and the slowest estimated configuration is 3.2 with the fast capable of almost sub 2 second 0-60. I’ve seen someone twin turbo it and get well within the 2 second category. The rcr slc is also less than 50k, this means you can buy one for nearly as cheap as a mustang gt. I would still much rather have a liter bike though because my wallet won’t kill itself after I buy one of theses super cars.

Only thing i can think about who can hold a gixer 1000 is a group b car, Audi s1 e2/ Ford rs 200 evelutione.. i have heard people who owned this monsters saying they had 0-60 times in 2,5 seconds. And 0-120mph in 6-7 seconds. But again.. That is rally/ race cars.....:p

You can just build a car for much cheaper lmao, buy a used 2015+ Mustang GT for around 20-25k, they come with forged pistons and rods from factory, throw a twin turbo kit on it for $9k. And for 30-35k you will keep up with this until about 150-160.

Great review, but this one is not for me. Id rather have a Guzzi Californian or somethinglike it. Even that 1150 k bike is more my speed.that red one if you still have it. The one with the loud horn .
