I just responded to someone else about something like this. Having been through difficulties, darkness, sadness, etc. and yet knowing the pendulum WILL swing back to the other side is what has always given me hope. And having BEEN in the dark and scary places makes the light and joy so much more enjoyable. If you'd never suffered or had sadness, how would you know joy?
