One idea i had was to give winona a special craft. A hammer that only she can use which refunds 100% of materials used on certain structures. This would help her reposition/transfer her catapults without wasting too much resources

While seeing the cult of the lamb fire pit leveling up mechanics and Winona's structures side by side does give me some ideas... I would love to see the bulk crafting you mentioned! Emergency structures that she moves around and gives support with? She definitely deserves some love from the devs.

Summer balancing aside, finding the crown as an oasis catch is pretty weird, isn't it? I guess it gives more of a purpose to not only keeping Antlion alive but also fishing in the oasis, allot of the time I just flat out ignore Antlion and let the craters form a ways away from my base, so it does add something to the gameplay, but it still feels off. I would make the lamb idol spawn as a part of a set piece somewhere in the world, and upgrading it would drop blueprints for the two turfs at the seconds stage, then the blueprint for the lamb idol itself at the third stage, the set piece could also contain some things like a crock pot, sleeping bags, berry bushes and occasionally a tent, since those are things you usually find in a cult of the lamb village, it could act a little starter base if a player finds it in a good location

Well, oasis is really dead place, but wouldn't it be too much structures tho? Like we already have terrarium chest, and know cult of the lamb? Gonna feel like Kleis didn't have any fantasy at all.

It's a very weird one with the statue being summer oriented unlock. Can't complain tho, we got buffs on satisfying antlion which is nice. I always pick Winona when I base build. I don't think she's meant to be anything more but make better improvements and be a quick crafter for the sake of saving time and doing less grind. One thing I wish for Winona though is to increase to having a lot more base improvement upgrades and better fueling and automation system to current and possible machinery she could get. People may see her only as a catapult gal but she always was my ace at doing anything kind of quicker building. Best character for that, huge time saver.

I personally don't play Winona, but I see how she could get a rework as I feel she needs it more than mere skill tree. She sure could use some personal perks to make her more interesting choice. Also it would be pretty cool to give her some structures from other DLC's that were not introduced to DST, e.g. Buoy or Cargo Boat that you could attach with Ropes to a boat, Ice Maker, Sprinkler, Oscilating Fan (that lowers temperature and removes Sandstorm in the area), etc as well as allow Lightning Rods to power her inventions. Additionally, she could use "toolbox" to "deconstruct" structures to give 100% of the materials back or lower the cost of creating new structures. Klei already gave some characters traits inspired by already existing items in the game (e.g. Willow - Bone Helm, Wortox - Lazy Explorer, Wanda - Telelocator Focus). Alternatively she could be able to repair weapons and armour or at the very least tools such a shovel or axe that often times are lying on the ground with low percentage by using her Trusty Tape.

something that I wanna talk about is winona in uncompromising mode where she gains a double edd sword where your hunger will drain faster every time you mine a rock cut a tree or hit an enemy but if you do anything of the above while your hunger high the weapon or tool will have doble durability which makes collecting recourses and every battle more cheap

I have an idea for one of items winona could unlock at her skill tree, a tool that could repair structures such as walls or improve winonas builds for limited time (sort of like tf2 engi) to make her less of a swap character.

Wolfgang's skill tree is usefull yet simple: more dmg, more speed, chance for faster craftig etc. Due to that, I expect Winona's skill tree won't be a game breaking revolution: cheaper catapults, potentialy bonus while fixing items (like 5% for no cost fix), more dmg with catapults while she's in a radious, bonus for filling generators, catapults that slows enemies etc. And if they bring mentioned change where her builingd are exclusive for her she will be even less popular

I think a Maxwell skill tree could be very interesting. Maybe it could add certain abilities to the codex or maybe how much it can be re-fueled. They could also make his skill tree a min/max type thing where you could maybe have servants chop trees faster but in a smaller radius per servant while also having them mine rocks in a larger radius but slower!

I think she should get tools like a wrench to make her farms and structures better but only she can use those items. that way the farms wouldnt be useless for other characters but least she could waste less time and maybe less energy when boosting them. wouldnt neccessarily be that powerful but would give more of a reason to stay as winnona.

that's what i've been hoping for too! some kind of wrench (or other tool) that lets her overclock structures, if in a multiplayer fight it could give the player the option between fighting alongside the catapults, or sticking to managing the catapults to increase their damage output instead. in addition to this, i was always bothered that there was no way to really get ice in Summer without hoarding it from other seasons. i think it'd make sense for winona to be able to overclock the ice box into spitting out a chunk of ice, especially considering that her favorite food requires it, so of course she'd try to devise a way to get it more often

I personally think locking the content of COTL in the oasis is a pretty cool gimmick, but i also think there should be more accessible to new players, they could make a Moon phase event where the oasis is actually open for fishing, (not fishing everything obviously) and they could make pretty cool visuals for the oasis on this specific moon phase with COTL theme Well, it probably will maintain this as an idea but it is cool to imagine

Hey, I use Wolfgang, and I have been playing for about a week. Are there any tips that could be given for me

Hey, I started playing Wolfgang recently too! Some advice I can give is, you don't want to be mighty all the time, only when you need it because it drains your hunger faster. Use the gym or a dumbbell when you need to fight or gather resources like logs or rocks. When starting a base farm potatoes. Roasted potatoes give Wolfie 40 hunger and 20 health, I think they are his favourite food but I could be wrong. Plus there are crockpot recipes with potato which are pretty good. What else... Go for marble. When he is mighty marble armor is the best, marble armor usually gives you 10% less speed but not for mighty Wolfgang. So get marble and use it to make a marble dumbbell, the stone one sucks. Use the rest of the marble to make beans and plant the marble so you can make marble armor later to fight bosses. I dont recommend using any of the dumbbells for fighting but it is useful to aggro the koalafant or get meat from birds (clutch during winter) by throwing it. Also if you can, get a pet, if you have a friend, pet or follower it reduces his sanity drain. There's a few more things to say but I've written enough I think. Don't want to overload you with too much info! One last thing, be careful of when Wolfgang changes form because he will do an animation and you will be unable to move for some time, so if youre fighting and it happens you will get hit. If you're running away and/or you dont want to lose your mighty level just equip your dumbbell, it maintains your mighty meter at the level it's at as long as you keep moving. Hope this helped! 😊

Also yea wtf summer locked items are kinda least fun imo. Pig king could have been a better option but I guess they wanted this to look a lot more like an easter egg. Not to mention that Klei don't have much in thought what to do with Oasis lake lol.

Yes, gold is useful but it became influxed pretty fast in Don't Starve (thanks to the awful balance in the game) and after your full expeditions in the Ruins, you give all frizzle wires to the Pig King and never return. Only new players see and use more Pig King via small morsel, large meat or dried meat. Its such a relic Pig King, almost a fossil, and I would have prefered more the crossover to be linked to him. Like, Pig King is even the ruler of a cult for cult sake!

I don't see it as a too massive of an issue but a weird annoyance that we gotta deal with to get those prints. They aren't very game changing though, for which I think it's fine. While your argument about Winona is 100% correct and factual (and I agree) I must say: "Ah yes! Using the Skill tree to fix the worst character by using a band-aid fix system! Marvelous! What could go wrong?" Winona should be saved by a normal rework, not by an insult of the franchise.
