Whales float to the top when they die then they explode, float for a while whilst animals feed off of it. Then what's left ends up sinking to the bottom. The rest gets eaten down at the bottom.
@CNNBlackmailSupport
@CNNBlackmailSupport Жыл бұрын
@@rubentullenaar2934ribcages are usually broken and torn off because they are the weakest link without any means of staying secured. It's also possible that the ribs are under the sand of the ocean floor. Bones don't crumble to dust on the sea floor, because it is constantly being pushed and pulled by the water, nearby fish, and other creatures that climb on them. There is no possible way an entire spine stays intact until touched by a person. The ocean floor has more pressure, which tend to keep things compacted.

@@jasonshink6589 I've seen whale spines before - even in a valley now high above water in Scotland. The whale had swum in there and died there when it was at sea level during the ice age. It was bone not fossil, about 8000 to 10000 years old. If you use google the way it was meant to be used originally - as a learning resource - you can find pictures and video of whale carcasses in various states of decay on the sea floor filmed by remote operated vehicles with cameras. If you want to know how the valley in Scotland was at sea level - it had about a mile thickness of ice on it during the ice age. Have you ever rolled a big snowman body? Know how heavy snow is? A mile thick. It crushed the earth's mantle down by it's wieght just exactly the same as is the case in Greenland right now. When all the ice melts the mantle very very slowly returns to its natural level so the land that was wieghed down rises back up again. It takes thousands of years for this to happen. It's *been* thousands of years.

@@jasonshink6589 i do concur with you that we are still making discoveries in the Ocean depths. The Coelacanth Fish thought to be long extinct. Found only in the Fossil records until a hundred years ago one was seen in an African Fish market. Since then live video of this ancient fish has been captured down in the deepest parts of the Ocean. So yes many odd things still are to be discovered in our Ocean depths. 💪🏻🙏🏻✨

Can't get over all the "experts" commenting on this. Don't you think a MARINE BIOLOGIST would have known a whale spine if they saw one? Don't you think "WHALE" would have been their first guess as well? Wow! Amazing! All the people here that followed the wrong profession.

If it crumbled when touched and couldn’t be identified (by marine scientists) it was likely prehistoric. Why not ask a paleontologist? (I mean, besides the fact they’d probably be disappointed that you had the audacity to mess around with it instead of letting them document it first…)

Probably an old spine from a Whale fall, happens when a large whale dies and sinks to the floor. The spine was likely so eaten up that it simply fell apart.

A million years? You understand that it wouldn't have turned to dust if it was a fossil? And, if it was still there exposed, to even supposedly "turn to dust" it wouldn't have been there for a million years as there are bone worms and other creatures of the like that break down the literal bones of other animals for nutrition.

I smell bull. That skeleton was in clearly lit water, fairly shallow. Oil rigs while not stationed in the deepest parts of the ocean you certainly wouldn't have that much light in the bottom. Also it "turned to dust" on touch but ocean currents didn't disturb it? The footage used was a whale, you can see thick white blubber around the tail that hasn't been eaten yet.
