An idea: Instead of holding the piece of brass when you are filing, try using a piece of "double stick" Scotch (cellophane) tape to hold it there. This usually works for temporary setups like you were using. Of course your method does work, I think that using tape would be "easier". Good series. Thank you.

This video was up for two whole minutes before I started it - I'll try to be more on the ball next time. Your persistence in getting the guide bars just right is admirable! I would have been very tempted to take a substantial amount off and 'tune' it in with shims - your way will look better and shims can give a lot of trouble too.
