My brother and I worked in that very space. It was called "The Ice Chateau" and was part of the King Louie West recreation complex. It started out as a 32 lane bowling alley in the early 60s and added the ice rink and pool/billiard hall in the mid 60s. We started out as "porters" (glorified name for popcorn sweepers) and became rink guards and Zamboni drivers. For a few summers into the early 70s, we would cover the north end of the rink with a wooden floor and stage and various local bands would play in what was called "The Parade of Bands."
